Blowdown (XC2)

Blowdown is a reaction in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. An attack that inflicts blowdown causes its target to be launched into the air and fall back down, preventing them from acting for several seconds. Blowdown can knock its target off an edge even over short barriers, and is therefore dangerous around cliffs and thin walkways. It is essentially a more potent form of knockback.

There are six levels of blowdown, which impact targets differently based on their sturdiness against reactions. The relative power of each blowdown level is as follows (in unclear internal units).

Blowdown cannot be inflicted on targets suffering from Topple, Launch, or Smash. Enemies with the "Immovable" property are immune to blowdown. Finishing a Blade Combo with the Wind element enacts Seal Blowdown, making the entire party immune to Blowdown for its duration.

Blowdown, like the other reactions, is not guaranteed to be inflicted. The chance of a Blowdown occurring is given by the reaction infliction formula.
