Shakhan's Gear is a Gear piloted by Shakhan in Xenogears.
Description[edit]
Shakhan's Gear was a trial Gear that was loaded with a smaller version of a flight engine that is typically used in flying vessels. As a Gear developed for the Ethos, it utilizes a cannon with a Seal symbol. If the Ether ability of the pilot is high enough it can emit Gate energy, which is the purpose of the pipe on its back.
Analysis[edit]
After seizing control of Nisan, Shakhan waits for Bart and the others to unlock Fort Jasper and the omnigear contained within, Andvari. At that point Shakhan launches his attack, utilizing this Gear. However due to the might of Andvari, Shakhan is forced to retreat. He heads to the Gate cave located near Nisan where the party pursues him. He hopes to utilize the power of the Gate to make him more powerful. In addition, Grahf appears and powers up his Gear even further. Ultimately, this isn't enough however and Shakhan is defeated, his Gear being destroyed along with the Gate, taking Shakhan with it.
