Stier is a Gear piloted by Ricardo Banderas in Xenogears.
Description[edit]
Stier was created by the Battling Committee and was custom designed for usage by Rico. Similar to other gears used in Nortune's Battling, units are placed in each area of the Gear that enables it to immediately restore parts that are worn out. Any parts that need to be replaced are repaired by the Ethos at a faster rate. Each component used has some hidden technology in it. However there are some surface level flaws. As each unit is meant for all purposes, tight settings on it cause it to overload with a huge power loss. The extent of time it can be used as thus is limited. Due to the limit of tightness overload, its real use settings are never really determined. The Kislev army desires stability and a new Gear used for Battling will provide feedback for the proper use and function of these units. With Stier supplied by the Battling Committee with excellent parts, it can achieve its maximum output for a brief period of time. Once it is stationed on the Yggdrasil, Rico is able to space out its functions, reallocate its sub-generator and increase its fuel tanks. It not only has large rockets as thrusters on its back; they can also be used to shoot out missiles. It's left hand has a drill claw and the legs have grind rollers equipped.
Story[edit]
Stier is the gear used by Rico. Provided by the Battling Committee, it is a state of the art Gear and has helped contribute to him holding the title of Battling Champion three times in a row. Fei battles it in the final round of the Battling Tournament, coming out on top. Shortly afterwards, the Battling Committee used the Gear to frame Rico in an attempt to assassinate Kaiser Sigmund. After Fei saves Rico from execution, Rico uses the Gear again and helps Fei and Elly in saving the city from destruction. Rico continues to use the Gear throughout the game after becoming a member of the party. It is eventually upgraded into an Omnigear after aligning with an Anima Relic in Anima Dungeon 2.
