The Kefeinzel is a battleship appearing in Xenogears.
Description[edit]
An Aveh patrol cruiser that is the flagship on the frontier. It is commanded by General Vanderkaum. It is customized for movement on the desert surface and lacks an engine for navigating on the plains or in the air. It is equipped with advanced propulsion rings which give it an edge in power in the desert. There are guns in front of the bridge section and it is possible to pick off enemies packing 7,200 kahns from 4 directions. It has enough power to even threaten towns. It has a battery of 10 guns along the hull and if attacked can issue Solaris grade polycarbonite rounds and Crestar bullets. It is able to knock aircrafts out of the sky.
There are great questions over the carrying of so many cannons and guns and the ship slows down when employing them. Also the gun turrets weigh it down to more than 3 times its natural weight. This causes it to lose speed and make it more vulnerable to air attack by Gears. It is unable to react fast enough at close range.
It is one of four ships that were to be designed, the other being Zankretenzel, Bruschke and an unnamed fourth ship, although the others were cancelled with the loss of this ship.
Story[edit]
The flagship of the Aveh forces on the Aveh - Kislev Border, Bart and the others specifically targeted the Kefeinzel due to the weakness of its captain, Vanderkaum, and his reliance on large guns. A group of Gears led by Fei was sent to the front line to launch an attack on the Aveh forces This was successful and the Weltall personally destroyed the Kefeinzel's main gun and the vessel as a whole.
