Buntline is a Gear piloted by Jessie in Xenogears.
Description[edit]
The Gear was designed to be one that could attack from a distance by crossing into close contact battle situations. It is available for general use and is transformable. In order to make use of its cannon mode and to reduce the chances of killing the human occupant, another Gear must hold it. In high emergency situations the cockpit can become a bullet. For an expert marksman, the cockpit is reinforced in the interior and the explosive part is separated. After the attack the part held in reserve divides itself and the part shot out explodes.
Story[edit]
The Buntline was originally developed by Citan when he was in Solaris. Jessie utilizes the Gear when the party fights Bishop Stone in the Alkanshel. Jessie appears to motivate Billy then has him utilize the Gear to fire at the Alkhanshel's barrier, destroying it. Only after this is it revealed that the Gear fires its cockpit and can kill the pilot. However it is soon revealed that Jessie was able to modify that part and survived the attack. Throughout the rest of the game the Renmazuo can use it to fire the Jessie Cannon.
