Script of Xenoblade Chronicles 2/Torna ~ The Golden Country

Torna ~ The Golden Country is internally considered "chapter 11" of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It takes place about 500 years before the main game. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with the entire plot of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

This page is divided into sections based on the Events Theater. Scenes not in the Events Theater (such as story quests or unvoiced dialogue) are shown as italic headers and given unofficial titles.

This page or section is incomplete. In other words, yes we know it's unfinished; we just didn't want to leave it blank in the meantime. You can help complete it.

Stinks Like Blood

With People and Darkness

The scene begins with an illustration showing the Coeia Titan, an oppressive fog veils the surrounding.

Narrator

The year was 3564.
The 107th Indoline Praetor, Rhadallis...
had sent an armed expedition against the counntry of Coeia.
Its capital, Omrantha, fell overnight...
And sank beneath the clouds, along with the rest of the Titan.

The camera goes into the fog. A war is ocurring, there are Indoline and Ardainian forces in the battlefield, along with soldiers dying in combat

Narrator

The destruction of Coeia shocked all the nations of Alrest…
Officially, the act was attributed...
to a military alliance led chiefly by Indol…
and the emerging power of Mor Ardain.
In fact, it had been the work of one Blade.

The camera goes up into the sky, a big black aura falling into the ground.

Narrator

The Aegis,
a man known as Malos,
said to be the Architect's word incarnate.

The camera goes up into the sky again, this time to show a big Artifice.

Narrator

Back then, neither Lora nor myself knew…
how closely his fate…
would prove to be tied with ours in the days to come...

The camera zooms into the Artifice, transitioning and leaving the illustration style. As the camera zooms in, it get inside the Artifice, the Aegis, previously named, is inside controlling the Artifice.

Malos

You're that eager to die?
Then allow me to assist!

Malos clenchs his fist as he attacks the Coeia Titan with a beam of darkness.
The Coeia Titan explodes and sinks into the Cloud sea while the scene fades black.

As the scene fades in, a Driver and her Blade are running from some monsters, their names are Lora and Jin.

Crossing Swords

Lora ties the enemy's leg with his rope and kicks it while Jin fights at her side with his sword, the two are fighting unceasingly.
Eventually, Lora is sorrounded and Jin passes his sword to her, a style of combat never seen before. Even if they are defending well themselves, they end up running away.

Jin
(running)

There's no...end to them!

Lora
(running too)

And it's not just the Volff and Feris…
Even the Buloofo's caught up in it!

Lora and Jin end up in the end of the path, the two turn around to see their enemies.

Jin

Lora, can you smell it?

Lora
(disgusted by the smell)

Yeugh! It stinks like-

Lora is interrupted by a Buloofo that stands in front of them followed by some Feris. The Buloofo is watching them in a intimidate way.

Battle!!/Torna

Jin

Yeah, no doubt about it. Blood.
It's driving them crazy.

As they prepare to fight, the Buloofo roars, the fight will be tough

Ties That Bind

Lora attacks a Volff with the Nodachi, Jin's sword, and kills it. She passes the sword to Jin, and now that she is vulnerable, a Volff leaps on her and throws her to the ground.

The Impending Crisis

Jin
(worried)

Lora!

Jin rushes to save her while Lora is defending how she can with the rope she has. Jin sends the Volff flying with his sword and uses his ice powers to defeat the rest of the Volffs.
Now that the things have settled down, Jin helps Lora to stand up.

Lora

Thank you, Jin.

Jin

Well, we've got room for improvement.

Lora

Of what?

Jin

This fighting style. It magnifies our strength, sure, but it leaves us wide open...

Jin sheathes his sword.

Jin

When the sword is in my hand,
you're left defenseless.

Lora

What, you won't keep me safe?

Jin

Huh?

♫

Loneliness

Lora places her hand on Jin's cheek right how he did 17 years ago when Lora awakened Jin.

Lora
(mimicking him)

"I'll keep you safe, always!"

A flashback shows a 10 years old Lora awakening Jin

Jin
(past)

I'll keep you safe, always...

Back in the present, Jin removes Lora's hand from his face.

Jin

You...
You still remember that?

Lora

I've thought about it...every day for these 17 years.

Lora looks up into the sky

Lora

I'll never forget it. The day you set me free from a life of misery.

Jin

I see.

They both look into each other's eyes and smile. They set off and start walking into the forest.

Mikhail

Not long after, Lora and Jin arrive to a desolated village where they find a boy alone, Lora approaches him.

Lora

What happened? Are you alone?

He doesn't respond or look at Lora; he only looks down with any expression.

Jin

Looks like the only survivor.
These burn patterns don't look like Malos's handiwork.
Must've been humans…
Looting and pillaging while the world burns.

Lora
(tilting her head)

Hey, it's okay. Would you like to come with us?
You don't have to worry, really. We're all good people, promise.

The little boy looks at Lora with sad eyes.
Jin bents down to be at the boy's height.

Jin

Can you walk?

The boy, without saying a word, affirms with his head.

Jin
(stroking his head)

You can. Good going.

Jin stands up and touches the boy's back to say him unverbally that they're going to walk. They eventually get to the outskirts of the village.

Lora

And... your family?
Were they there with you? Should we go back and..

Mikhail
(interrupting Lora)

Mikhail...
My name is... Mikhail

Lora

Oh! Right. I'm Lora.
And he's...

Mikhail
(interrupting her again)

I don't have a family.
I was sold to this village. From Estham. So... I'm all alone.

Lora

I see...
Right, then! Starting today, we're going to be your new family!
We'll take you back to our friends, and...

Mikhail
(interrupting her a third time)

You people? You're strangers.
You don't have to pretend to care.

Lora
(confused)

Er...? Ahaha... ha...
You don't beat around the bush, do you?

Lora

He's gonna be a handful, this one.
Though, really...I was just the same once...

Lora

Very well. Friends first then, not family. How's that sound?

Jin

Lora.

Lora looks at Jin.

Lora

Huh? What's up?

Jin

I'll scout the area. Look after him.

Lora

Oh, of course. Be careful...
And, Jin...

Jin

I know.

Jin puts a mask with two horns to hide the Core Crystal in his forehead and starts walking.
Meanwhile, in Indol, the Praetor of Indol Rhadallis and one of the magisters, Baltrich, are having a chat.

What was that you said, Baltrich?

Baltrich

The Coeian capital of Omrantha has fallen…
Ah, rather, it was annihilated, Praetor Rhadallis.

Rhadallis

So it has come to pass after all...

Baltrich

... Respectfully, you aren't much of an actor, Eminence.
It appears you are not surprised at all? We heard disturbing rumors circling among the Magisters.
Amalthus... whom you recently elevated to Quaestor...
People wonder if this calamity has anything to do with that man's Blade...
With such extraordinary power, is it really wise to, er...

Rhadallis elevates his hand, ordaining Baltrich to stop talking.

Rhadallis

No matter whose power affected it,
it is sure to serve the greater glory of Indol.
The Architect... will surely be pleased

Baltrich

Eminence... Do you believe it can be controlled?

Rhadallis

If it cannot... I will let him take the blame.

Thank you for your report, Magister Baltrich. You may return to your duties.

Baltrich takes a bow and leaves the room.

Gathering Ingredients

The party has gone to a campsite near the village outskirts.

Lora

This looks like a good spot to set up camp.

Jin

Yeah. I’ll start preparing the food.

Lora

Oh wow, you’re a star, Jin. What do you reckon you’ll make?

Jin

Let’s see, now… I should be able to get my hands on a few choice ingredients around here.
If we can find some Tornan Trout, Deviled Onions and Sour Avocados, I could stew them together…
You like Trout Stralu, right?

Lora

It’s absolutely divine! You’ll join us for a bit to eat, won’t you, Mikhail?

Mikhail

...I guess.

Lora

Perfect! Then let’s set to work and hunt for those ingredients!

Jin

All three of those things should be easy to come by around here. No need to travel off the beaten path.

A Spot of Camping

The party is making camp while sitting on rocks and pieces of fallen wood, arranged around the campfire.

Lora

Right, we've got our ingredients, fire's nice and toasty... I think we're all set for the night!
Jin, would you mind making a start on the cooking?

Jin

I'll get right to it.

Mikhail

...The Blade's doing the cooking?

Jin

Got a problem with that?

Mikhail

...

Lora

Better Jin than me. If I were in charge, I'd probably end up losing a limb peeling the veggies!

Jin

It's not all one-sided, though. Lora has her own talents. Like making charms. That, I could never do.

Lora

Right! We make up for each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Blade or Driver, no one has to shoulder all the burden.

Mikhail

Huh.

Jin

Okay, I'm going to make a start on the Trout Stralu. It won't take long.

A Brief Respite

On nighttime, Lora and Jin are seated on the camp site while Mikhail is sleeping next to them.

Lora

How sad... The village, I mean.

Jin

It is.

Lora

That Blade, Malos...
He didn't do that, did he?

Jin

The towns razed by the Aegis were completely obliterated...
I plan to inform the mercenaries of this.

Lora

How could a person do something so awful...?

Jin

Anyway. You should rest now. We should be able to meet up with Haze tomorrow.

Lora
(excited)

Ooh, yes!
I wonder if she's found any leads on Mother. I hope so, anyway.

Jin

I'll prepare food, then rest up.

Lora

Oh, that's kind of you...
Thanks...

Lora smiles at Jin looking at his eyes, and Jin narrows his eyes to express happiness.
Jin stands up in order to make food for the three of them for when they wake up in the morning, and Lora goes to sleep.

The Next Morning

Morning has come, the party is ready to get on the road again.

Lora

Mmm, that really hit the spot!
You know, I really can't think of anything better than waking up to Jin's cooking. Scrumptious!

Mikhail

...

Jin

You scarfed that down quick.

Mikhail

Uh...!

Jin

Want seconds?

Mikhails hides behind Lora.

Mikhail

...

Lora

Mikhail, relax. He's not gonna bite you.
Don't let the whole moody thing fool you. He's genuinely concerned about you.

Jin

"Moody thing"...?

Lora

Look, if there's anything you need, just tell us, all right?

Mikhail

Nu-uh, I'm fine. Really.

Lora

OK, I hear you.
Listen, I know Jin can seem a bit scary, but he's really very gentle. You'll get used to him.

Mikhail nods.

Jin

...
I just need to clean up here, then we can move out.

Lora

Feltley can't be far now, can it? Where we're meeting up with Haze.

Jin

That's right. There's still a way to go, but if we keep to the road, it won't take long.

Hallmark of the Aegis

Lora, Jin and Mikhail finally arrive to the Feltley Village.

Lora

Looks like... Haze isn't here yet…

As they get deeper into the village Lora gets open-mouthed; a big black crater has consumed the village. The three rush to get closer.

The Beginning of Darkness

Lora
(surprised)

What the...
This is... This should be the village of Feltley.

Jin crouches down to examine the texture of the crater.

Jin

It's almost like glass...
Rumor among the mercs says that's... the hallmark of the Aegis.

Lora

But why would he do this?

Jin hears something coming from the sky, he looks up to see what is it and a colossal robot is approaching to them.

Jin

Look out!

Jin jumps into the inside of the crater holding Lora in his arms while Mikhail flees and hides to a near tree. The robot tries to hit Lora and Jin with its claws and it manages to remove Jin's mask from his forehead.

Lora
(worried)

Jin?!

Jin

It's nothing. Let's go!

In the center of the crater, Jin draws his sword and Lora gets into an offensive position, they're about to battle against an enemy they never saw before.

The Impending Crisis

After the battle, when the Gargoyle seems to be defeated, its eyes brighten again and stands up.

Lora
(exhausted)

This... is no normal monster.

Jin

Not an Ardainian Titan weapon, either...

Lora

Maybe it's Malos's?

The Gargoyle prepares to do a charged attack.

?

Get down, you two!

A light beam appears from the sky and lands on the Gargoyle causing a little explosion that Jin and Lora have to dodge, Jin activates the Blade shield to make sure they don't get hurt.

Lora

Holy...

Between the fog that the explosion caused can be seen a silhouette of a woman walking.
As the fog disappears, there's no trace of the Gargoyle. The woman, named Mythra, walks towards Lora and Jin.

Mythra

That was a close one!

From Mythra's back appears a hooded man

?

It looks like Malos's Artifices are still roaming around.

Lora

So it was...

As an awkward silence was made in the crater, the hooded man looks from down to up Lora and Jin.

(looking at Jin)

Hey...
Wait a minute...

The hooded man, named Addam, unhoods himself, revealing his face and his tunic.

Tensed Mind

Lora
(surprised and scared)

The emblem of Torna!

Addam

You are...
Jin! Right?
Wow... I can’t believe it!
I came all the way out here and who do I save but the Paragon of Torna and his Driver!

Addam
(looking at Lora)

You're so young...
That Core Crystal was stolen 17 years ago.
Quite a feat to pull off that heist at that age!

Lora

Are you going to arrest us? Execute us?

Addam
(crossing his arms)

I don’t know yet.
I did just save you, after all.

Lora
(causing irritation)

Oh, how magnanimous.

Jin

Lora. There's no point in talking.

Jin and Lora get into their ready-for-battle position as Mythra approaches them.

Mythra

Have it your way...

Incoming!

Mythra draws her sword as she screams sprinting towards Jin, Jin does exactly the same and they clash each other's sword.
The two pairs prepare to fight each other

A Momentous Occasion

Crossing Swords

Lora, groaning from the effort, wraps Addam's sword with her rope, Jin tries to attack him from above now that he's vulnerable but Mythra jumps to attack Jin in order to defend Addam. Jin blocks her attack and passes his sword to Lora. Lora sprints to attack Addam but he defends himself just in time, without thinking it, Jin grabs his sword from Lora's hands and attacks Addam one more time, this time Jin hits Addam successfully and unarms him. Right after that, he aims for Mythra.

Mythra

The hell ARE these two?
They're just a Driver and Blade, where's this strength coming from?

Addam
(fighting breathlessly)

Well, he IS the Paragon of Torna.

Jin
(angry)

Hrh... I've had enough.

Jin starts glowing with an ice aura

Lora

What? No!
There's no need for you to-

Right before Lora can finish the line, Jin summons a lot of sharp floes, he redirects them to Addam. Mythra, with her Core Crystal glowing, points at Jin with her swords and a beam of lights come from out of the sky, stopping right in time the floes.

Addam
(peacefully)

You!

Lora

What?

Somehow, Addam stops fighting with a happy smile in his face and approaches to them with his sword undrawed.

Addam

Incredible! You... Both of you!

Lora
(Not understanding)

Huh?

♫

Friendship

Lora and Jin look at each other in a confused way, and Mythra shakes her head like if she's tired of Addam.

Addam

That last attack? The force behind it was absurd! I'm amazed.

Lora
(confused, spechless and blushing at the same time)

Oh, ah, really...?
Well, that's just...
Ahaha...

Addam

Oh, and... Passing the weapon...?
What a concept!
How did you ever come up with THAT idea?

Lora

Oh, well...

Lora, surprised by the question, doesn't really know what to respond.

Lora
(Not looking at his face)

We were broke

Addam

Huh?

Addam didn't excpect this, Lora and Jin looked like they were professional fighters, so he would have never thought what Lora just said.

Lora
(a bit angry)

We couldn't afford meals, let alone another sword.
And so we made do.

While Jin is embarassed, Addam and Mythra are open-mouthed, they can't believe such a good pair of fighters can't even afford a sword.

Addam laughs loudly.

Addam

You're kidding?!

Lora lets out a "Hmph!" and crosses her arms.

Addam
(still laughing softly)

Oh, man. You guys are the best.
I haven't laughed this hard in ages.

Lora
(Pardon me?)

Huh?

Addam

I really, REALLY like you two.

Lora

Uhh...

A female Blade and a Gormotti kid run to the crater where Lora, Addam, Jin and Mythra are.

Gormotti kid
(shouting)

Master Addam! Sir!

Everyone turns around, when Lora sees the female Blade she makes a relief face.

Addam

Milton!

The Gormotti kid, named Milton, runs towards Addam to hug him.

Milton

Oh, thank goodness you're all right!
Master Addam, are you hurt at all?

Lora

Master... Addam...?
You can't be THE Addam Origo?!

Jin

The lord of Aletta... And fourth in line to the throne of Torna.

Mythra

Oh come on, Milton.
I've been with him the whole time. You really think these two would cause any harm?

Milton

You've been using your dumb Artifice again, haven't you?

Mythra

Dumb?!

Milton
(ignoring her)

So yeah, sure, nothing to worry about, right?

Mythra gets angry at him but Addam places his hand on between them to calm things down.
Addam bents down to be at Milton's height.

Addam

Milton. Who's this, then?

Milton

Ah, this is Haze.
She rescued me from the jaws of some nasty monsters.

Haze, Lora's Blade, smiles at Milton and Addam saying unverbally that it's a pleasure to help.

Addam

Well, I'd better give her my thanks.

Lora
(relieved Haze's okay)

Haze!

Addam

Oh? Was she with you?

Haze

I’m sorry to keep you waiting, my lady.

Now that Haze has reunited with Lora and Jin in the Feltley Village right how they planned, them alongisde Addam, Mythra, Milton and Mikhail make a campsite in there to pass the night.

In the campsite, Lora is explaining to everyone how she resonated with Jin 17 years ago.

Addam
(crying)

I see... So that's when...
What a sad, sad tale, Lora...

Milton

Oh, here we go again...

Milton offers Addam a towel to wipe his tears.

Milton

Don't let it get cold, now.

Milton gives to Mikhail a plate with soup and he accepts it without saying anything, he probably hasn't eaten in more than three days.
Addam, now with his tears wiped, puts away the towel.

Addam

So then, how come you've enlisted with a band of mercenaries?

Lora

I guess I like the freedom.
This way I'm not tied down, so I can help out with causes I really believe in, you know?
Going's tough everywhere you look these days, right? I can't ignore it, can I?

Addam

I understand.

Mythra

Fat load of good that'll do in the long run. The world keeps turning anyway.

Jin

You might think that.
But mercenaries and statesmen each have their own views and ways to effect change.
It's not in vain.

Mythra

Huh. A Blade siding with humans... You don't see that every day.

Jin

I think it's Blades like you that are rare.

Mythra

Well, duh! You do know what I am, right?

Jin

Lacking in compassion.

Mythra sighs and crosses her arms, she said that last thing refering she was an Aegis, being indeed rare as Jin said, but she didn't excpect Jin's reply.

Lora

So about Jin... I suppose you have to take him away from me.

Addam

I could try to slay you right here...

Lora

But...?

Addam

But my mission is to stop the Aegis's destruction...
To subdue Malos. Not to seek out lost trinkets.
Who cares about Paragons anyway?

Lora reacts confused with a "huh?".

Addam

How about... you two join up, lend us your strength?
You're incredibly powerful. There's loads I want to pick up from you...like that trick from before!
Let's see...

Addam crosses his arms to think for an excuse so the Torna's authority allows Lora being Jin's Driver.

Addam

We'll say I found the Paragon on my journey... And decided to entrust him to you.
To help with Malos.
Well? Sound plausible?

Lora
(grateful)

That's just...

Addam smiles at Lora
A bit later, Addam and Mythra move slightly away from the campsite so then can talk with privacy.

Mythra

How dare he speak to me like that? He thinks he knows me!

Addam

"Coarse" is the word.

Mythra

Yeah. He is.

Addam

I meant you.

Mythra

Me?!

Addam

He meant you're unpolished.
After you return to your core, you lose your memories.
However, as you gain experience with people, gradually the nature of a Blade...
rather, their feelings...
they change and grow.
You become more and more human.
But you purposely keep yourself apart.

Mythra

Oh, so now it's my fault?!

Addam

No, not at all.
I respect that part of you.

Mythra blushes and crosses her arms

At the same time, Lora and Jin were talking in the campsite.

Lora

Hey, are you...angry?
About this whole Malos thing…

Jin
(looking at the crater)

I'm not. Whatever happens, I'll protect you. Be sure of it.
We cannot simply ignore what's happening in the world.
But…

Lora

But what?

Jin

Please say you'll be careful.

Lora
(nodding her head)

Hah. I will

Morning has come, Lora approaches Addam to tell him something.

Lora

Erm, Your Highness?

Addam

Just Addam is fine. What is it?

Lora

The going after Malos thing... Could it wait a few days?

Addam

Oh? Is there something you need to do first?

Lora

I... Well, yes.

Addam looks at Lora and her party waiting for a further explanation.

Haze

You see... Lady Lora seeks the whereabouts of her mother.
Unfortunately, she has her mercenary duties to perform. Therefore, I often go out and conduct these searches myself.

Addam

I see.
Then, you've found her?

Haze

Yes
With all that happened yesterday, I did not have the opportunity to say...
My lady, your mother is currently residing in a small hamlet called Torigoth.

Lora

Torigoth...

Addam

That's on the edge of Gormott.
Ardainian and Coeian forces clash out there frequently. It's very dangerous.

Haze
(nodding her head)

Indeed.

Addam

Right, no time to waste. Let us head out there!

Lora

What?! But what about your mission?!

Addam

You don’t want to see your mother?

Lora

Of... Of course, but...

Addam

Then let's go! Malos hasn't hit that part of the world yet.
It's as good a place as any to look.

Lora

You're hoping we might find him there?

Addam

Exactly.

Lora

That sounds too easy...

Addam

We go to the village of Torigoth to find Malos.
And you go to Torigoth to find your mother.
Everybody wins.

Lora

And once I've found my mother, I join up with you?

Addam

Mhm. That's the general idea.
I'll send my people to notify your mercenary friends.
And perhaps we could find a place for your mother in the capital?
It should be safe there.

Lora

Is this normal princely behavior?

Mythra
(impertinently)

You think this is bad, just stick around for a bit.

Milton

Nobody's, like, making you come along, you know?

Mythra

Unfortunately, a Driver and Blade are one in body and soul.

Milton

As if you don't do whatever you feel like anyway...

Mythra and Milton look at each other angrily.

Addam

I know this is all very sudden.
Still, we don't know where we'll run into Malos next.
It makes sense to stick together as much as we can.

In the bushes, there's a hidden man looking and listening closely at the party.

The Past Revealed

Mysterious man

Isn't that...?

A flashback shows how after Lora awakened Jin, this same man tried to kill Lora, but Jin cut his left arm. Consequently, now he have a prosthetic arm.

Mysterious man

No mistakin' it.
That's the Blade... And that little brat, too!

His Blade starts somehow a videocomunication with presumably one of this man's friends.

Mysterious man

Yeah, the whole village was wiped out.
Found myself some great Core Crystals, though.

He looks at a bag containing Core Crystals that he stole.

Mysterious man

And... I found somethin' else, too. Somethin' real interesting.
Uh-huh. Gimme some time to take care of this, OK?
I'll be in touch.

His Blade hangs out the videocomunication.

Mysterious man

Heh...
Fate's a funny thing. Never thought I'd get to take back that Paragon what I stole in the first place…

Traveling Companions

The party has set out from the Feltley Village's campsite and onto the nearby road.

Lora

It's really nice to have some more company around here. Really makes fighting a breeze, too.

Mythra

Well yeah, what did you expect? The monsters around here don't stand a chance against me.

Jin

Your powers are on a completely different level, true.
But that's not what Lora was trying to say, Aegis.

Addam

Lora doesn't think of Blades as mere tools of their Drivers. To her, they're partners in arms. Am I right?

Lora

Exactly!
When I said we had more company, I was talking about all three of you.
I don't care whether you're a Blade or a Driver! I'm just happy that we get to share our time together.

Mythra

OK, then. That's a pretty weird way of thinking, if you ask me.

Lora

You think so?

There is an awkward silence for a bit.

Haze

Um, should we perhaps be on our way to Yanchik Harbor now?
If we keep to the road, it should take us straight there.

Addam

The regular boat from Yanchik to Gormott, is it?
As far as I know, it's still running. But we should probably hurry all the same.

After some fighting, and listening to Kaym's problem, the party has finally arrived at Yanchik Harbor.

Lora

Here we are! Yanchik Harbor, isn't it?

Haze

That's correct. I requested that they wait specially for Lady Lora before they depart.

Lora

Oh, nice one! Good thinking, Haze!

Addam

Looks like getting our ride to Gormott will be no trouble at all.

Lora

Come on, let's go and have a chat with the captain.

Gedd, the captain, is standing in front of the Titan ship.

Same ones who attacked the village, perhaps!

While the party prepares for battle, Mikhail and Milton run to the side in order to not disturb.

Mythra attacks Brighid with a Ray of Punishment, but she manages to block it. Brighid goes now on a more offensive style and while Mythra manages to defend herself, she struggles with one of Brighid's powerful attacks.

The scene skips to mid-meal. The group of Lora, Fan, Addam, Mythra, and a young boy sits on boxes around a pot on a campfire. Brighid then arrives.

I've been thinking, after the sparring match with Lora yesterday...
Wouldn't we also make better use of our skills if we passed around our weapons the way she does?
How about it? Want to give it a go?

A Howl From Beyond

The party is now by the Olnard's Trail. Suddenly a Slithe Jagron breaks their way roaring at them.

The party engages in battle as Milton and Mikhail run away to be safe.

Minoth Takes the Stage

Addam attacks the Slithe Jagron with his sword and Mythra does a Ray of Punishment, Jin follows her with a Starslash.

Is it over?

When the Slithe Jagron seemed to be dead, he wakes up and locks in for Milton and Mikhail. He pounces against them.

Due to the fear, Milton's first reaction is to hug Mikhail

Addam

Milton!

Addam runs towards them and embraces them protectively.
Suddenly, a beam of darkness crashes into the enemy, Addam looks around surprised to see who is the responsible. Not far away there is a tall man with olive skin and a rough scar over his right eye, long brown hair in a high ponytail and a distinctive streak of hair hanging over his face.

Addam
(surprised)

Minoth!

Minoth

You were always slow to finish a job, my Prince!

Addam

I thought I told you to stop calling me that.

Mythra

A Blade?

Addam

He's Minoth. Quaestor Amalthus's Blade.

Mythra

Lora gasps

Addam

He's one of the quaestors in Indol.
And...
Malos's Driver.

The Slithe Jagron roars again, the party prepares to fight again this time with Minoth's help.

What Kind of Salvation?

Crossing Swords

This battle is being rough, the Slithe Jagron tries to crush Jin and Lora with its giant paw, but they successfully dodge it. Jin capitalizes on the enemy's weakened state to attack its leg, right after that he passes his sword to Lora and she cuts the enemy's belly, again, Lora passes the sword to Jin while he's in the air and concludes their joint attack by pounding his sword on the monster's back.

(rushing to attack the enemy)

You've got an interesting way of fighting.

Lora

That's Jin.
And she is Haze.

(attacking the enemy)

Minoth

Minoth shoots the enemy while doing a cool sideflip.

Addam interrupts Minoth while jumping to attack the enemy.

Before answering, Minoth jumps on top of the monster and rolls over him while cutting him with his weapons, showing again how cool he is.

Another time.

Due to Minoth's last attack, the Slithe Jagron unleashes all its aggro against Minoth with a violent scratch, Minoth, without looking at the enemy, dodges the attack with a somersault and Mythra enters the action and finishes the battle with a powerful attack on the enemy's neck. The Slithe Jagron is finally dead.

Addam

That was close.
Thanks, Minoth.
You're very capable, even on your own.

Minoth

Ah, well maybe I should thank him... Or not.

Lora

Minoth is walking in a green hill road with trees similar to Gormott. He eventually sees a house with the door open, inside, there's dead people and everything untidy, meaning the murder is recent. Not far from where Minoth is there's a baby crying loudly. Minoth decides to follow the sound and finds Amalthus on the border of a cliff looking at the World Tree with the baby crying on his hands.

I arrived too late.

Was that their child?
That soldier, wasn't that the one from-
