Story[edit]

Lora and Jin intend to meet up with Haze at Feltley Village; however, they come across it destroyed with a lone Gargoyle standing in the center of a giant blackened crater. They have difficulty fighting it off, and it is only due to the intervention of Addam and Mythra that the Gargoyle is destroyed.

When Malos begins his attack on Auresco, he sends several Gargoyles to attack different districts in the city, which the party repels. Later, Malos distracts the party with two Gargoyles as he goes to claim the Tornan Titan's seal; although the party manages to destroy them, they are unable to stop Malos from getting away with the seal.

During the climax of the Aegis War at The Soaring Rostrum, Malos summons numerous Gargoyles, at least two Artifice Colossi, and eventually, his Siren to attack the Tornan Titan's core, boasting that there's only 10 minutes until the Artifices overwhelm the core. Mythra summons Ophion in an attempt to repel them, but Malos surprises his counterpart by hiding several Gargoyles in the Cloud Sea, which overwhelm and destroy Ophion. Although Malos is eventually defeated, the damage done by the Gargoyles combined with the backlash of Mythra's attack causes the Tornan Titan to sink into the Cloud Sea.

In the aftermath of his defeat, Malos loses the ability to control the Gargoyles due to his damaged Core Crystal; it is not until after he repairs his core (via extracting Pyra's data from her Core Crystal) that he is able to regain control of them.

As Malos prepares to destroy Alrest by piloting Artifice Aion, he sends down several Gargoyles and Siren models to assault every nation. With the Conduit's disappearance, all Artifices cease to function, Gargoyles included.
