Simeon is an E.S. unit that appears in the Xenosaga series. It is piloted by Albedo.

Description[edit]

Simeon was originally built in Labyrinthos. It is equipped with a long tail stabilizer functioning as its logical drive. It specializes in high-mobility combat. It is able to deal with any type of battle situation including both short and long range. Upon becoming a Testament, Albedo swaps his Vessel of Anima into a new unit also called Simeon which has similar specifications.

Story[edit]

Episode I[edit]

Simeon is used by Albedo when he visits Pleroma and is used by him for transportation throughout the remainder of the game, when he heads to the Kukai Foundation, Song of Nephilim and Proto Merkabah. He is at times accompanied by a Kirschwasser co-pilot. The party does battle with Simeon while at the Song of Nephilim, with Albedo retreating afterwards due to the appearance of the Blue Testament.

Episode II[edit]

Simeon continues to be used by Albedo until he opens the path to Old Miltia. At the end of the game when Albedo is welcomed by Wilhelm as the White Testament, he appears atop a redesigned version of Simeon, which is no longer humanoid in appearance.

Episode III[edit]

Simeon appears on the Floating Landmass when Albedo arrives to recover Virgil after his E.S. Naphtali is defeated by the party. It recovers the Vessel of Anima from Naphtali. Its older model is found by the party within Labyrinthos when they seek to steal the Vessels of Anima. Simeon is later destroyed along with the other E.S. by Joshua when Zarathustra goes out of control with its right arm being assimilated into Joshua.

Xenosaga: The Animation[edit]

Simeon's role in the anime is basically the same until Shion and co. arrives at Proto Merkabah, there its Vessel of Anima absorbs Kirsch, transforming into a monstrous new form with many tentacles, taking on the same role as Sophie Peithos in the original game. This monstrosity is eventually destroyed after Kirsch betrays Albedo and allowing KOS-MOS to destroy it from the inside using X-BUSTER and save Kirsch, however its mechanical form is restored in the anime's epilogue.

As a boss[edit]

Database[edit]

Episode I

Albedo's Mech

The details of this mech are currently unknown. However, judging from its enormous size (over 10m tall), its lack of equipment such as the D.S.S.S., and its ability to destroy Gnosis several kilometers long with one blow, it outclasses the A.G.W.S.

Its primary power source also appears to differ from a standard generator or a transfer-capable generator.

Episode III

E.S. Simeon

Albedo's unit.

Albedo's unit. Equipped with a long tail stabilizer which functions as a logical drive, its forte is high-mobility combat. Its ability to deal with any battle situation, short or long-range, makes it an almighty unit.

It was built as a military factory in Labyrinthos on Miltia.

After becoming a Testament, Albedo switched his Vessel of Anima over for use in a new unit, but its name and basic specs remain the same.
