Pilum is an A.M.W.S. unit that appears in the Xenosaga series. It possessed by Ormus and is piloted by Richard.
Description[edit]
Pilum was developed by Hyams Heavy Industries and was in the possession of Ormus, being piloted by Richard. It has been specially tuned for the usage of Ormus Inquisitors.
Story[edit]
Richard pilots Pilum when he and Hermann pursue MOMO once the party arrives on Second Miltia. He uses it to force the party off the highway and chase them through the city, eventually doing battle with them. He retreats under Pellegri's orders once Canaan appears in Asher. Richard appears using Pilum later in the game when the party makes their way through Ormus Stronghold where it is defeated again and destroyed. Richard moves on to using the E.S. Gad in Episode III.

A.M.W.S. Pilum
The A.M.W.S. piloted by Richard.
An A.M.W.S. made by Hyams Heavy Industries. The name "Pilum" means "javelin" in Latin. It has been specially tuned for the use of Ormus Inquisitors, and is piloted by Richard.
At the Ormus Stronghold, the Pilum displayed its power by transferring the main cannons of the Naglfar and destroying the inner walls of the stronghold, but it was destroyed by the E.S. craft piloted by Shion's party.
Xenosaga I & II
E.S.パイラム
E.S.復元用テストベースであったハイアムズ社製のA.M.W.S.『パイラム』にアニマの器を搭載し、擬似E.S.として稼動させている機体。
急造機であるが故、オルムス内で定めるアニマの器がもたらす本来の出力を達成できていないため、冠せられるはずの氏族名はなく、A.M.W.S.の機体名がそのまま使われている。
機体名の『パイラム』とはラテン語で投槍という意味である。
搭乗者はリヒャルト。
