Kirschwassers (キルシュヴァッサー) are a type of experimental Observational Realian in the Xenosaga series. They were designed by Joachim Mizrahi to collect data so that the 100-Series prototype, MOMO, could be perfected. Exactly 99 Kirschwassers were made before MOMO was perfected. The remaining Kirschwassers can be seen accompanying Albedo Piazzolla in Xenosaga Episode I.
Appearance and personality[edit]
Kirschwassers all resemble Sakura Mizrahi, since they were all modelled after her by Joachim Mizrahi. Due to being made in her image, they have the likeness of a 12 year old girl with similar facial features to Sakura. However, their appearances differ in their darker skin tones, longer, silver colored hair, blue lips, and bright yellow eyes commonly found in Realians. Their uniforms are also similar to the uniforms of the 100-Series Realians and MOMO's uniform from Xenosaga Episode I, though theirs are cooler toned. Their white and blue nursing bands also sets them apart from the 100-Series Realians.
As they were brought into this world by Joachim Mizrahi merely as stepping stones for his greater ambition of creating a perfect Realian in his daughter's image, the Kirschwassers greatly admire MOMO, yet feel a great amount of sadness about their meaningless existence. To cope with their misery, Kirschwassers serve Albedo.

The general term for observational Realians constructed by Professor Joachim Mizrahi in order to collect data to use for MOMO’s development. “Kirschwasser” is also the term for cherry brandy.
Broadly interpreted, both MOMO and the Kirschwassers are Realians which Professor Mizrahi built for the sake of his daughter Sakura; the circumstances surrounding their construction, however, are visibly quite different.
MOMO is the entity closest to Sakura and was born complete. The Kirschwassers, on the other hand, were merely tools of the experiment, made so that MOMO could be completed, and then to be disposed of. To the Kirschwassers, MOMO is the subject of both admiration and envy.
That is not necessarily to say that many of the Kirschwassers that traveled with Albedo felt jealous of MOMO.
The reason the Kirschwassers never left Albedo’s side, no matter how harshly he treated them, was because of a strong resonance with the close, yet untouchable, existence in Albedo’s life, and the feelings similar to unconditional love that it inspired.

百式観測器・プロトタイプ「モモ」のデータ収集を目的として、ヨアキム・ミズラヒによって製造されたレアリエンのサンプル体。唯一、モモを完全体に近づけるためだけに実験体として消費されたかわいそうな存在で、モモに近い外観と能力を持っている。純粋無垢な性格で、どんな扱いを受けても(例えば、アルベドに虐待されようとも) 必要とされるならば、相手の好きな部分を見つけて一途なまでに信用する。できるならモモになりたいという憧れを抱いている。また、モモと接触することで、記憶情報を伝えることができる。キルシュヴァッサーはドイツ語で“チェリー・ブランデー”という意味。

Xenosaga I & II
キルシュヴァッサー
ヨアキム・ミズラヒ博士がM.O.M.O.の開発のために、データ収集を目的として製造した観測用レアリエンの総称。
キルシュヴァッサーにはチェリー・ブランデーという意味がある。
拡大解釈すれば、M.O.M.O.もキルシュヴァッサーも、ヨアキム博士の娘であるサクラのために造られたレアリエンなのだが、双方を取り巻く境遇は目に見えて大きく異なる。
M.O.M.O.はサクラに最も近い存在であり、完成された器として生まれたが、キルシュヴァッサーは、その器を完成させる為に造られ、そして棄てられていった実験媒体でしかなかった。
また、キルシュヴァッサーの一人が、アルベドからどんなに恐ろしい仕打ちを受けても寄り添うようにして彼の傍を離れなかったのは、自分と同じように、近くて遠い存在を持つ彼と強く共鳴し、無償の愛にも似た何らかの感情を抱いていたからなのかもしれない。

ミルチア紛争時、キルシュが軌道上の天の車に向け歌声装置を浮上させていた際、歌声に残っていたアルベドに出会った。
アルベドはウ・ドゥによる汚染やニグレドとの戦いで重傷を負っており、キルシュヴァッサーは彼を看護する。以来、（アルベドの方は無意識的にだが）二人は互いに必要な存在となっていく。
