E.S. Dan is an E.S. unit that appears in the Xenosaga series. It is piloted by Voyager.
Description[edit]
Dan is equipped with a giant transformable shield. Its defensive capabilities are immense when combining this with Voyager's special distortion abilities. When in cruising configuration with its shield folded, it has mobility rivaling the Simeon.
Story[edit]
Episode II[edit]
Dan appears in space when Shion steals Dinah from the Dämmerung alongside a swarm of T-183 Oculuses. It initially gives her trouble along with the other enemy forces until KOS-MOS appears and docks with the Dinah, converting it to a more powerful form. When Dinah fires upon the enemy Dan transfers away before being hit. Dan appears along with Naphtali and Judah at the Ω System when the Testaments kill Sergius XVII. At this time Voyager is revealed to be its pilot. It also appears along with those two E.S. units as well as Joshua and Simeon in the final scene of the game.
Episode III[edit]
Voyager continues to utilize Dan during Episode III. When the party arrives on Michtam, it recovers the Vessel of Anima from Joseph, Gad and Issachar upon their defeat. The party confronts it within the Archon Cathedral. After its defeat, Dan's Vessel of Anima abandons it, being recovered by Judah. Dan is destroyed along with the other E.S. by Joshua when Zarathustra goes out of control with the right appendage-like shield being assimilated into Joshua.
