WP
WP, short for Weapon Points, are a type of point in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. Each character who can be directly controlled, except for Jin in chapter 8, has a separate WP pool for each weapon they can use.
In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, WP can be used to level up each of a Driver's Driver Arts on the relevant weapon, to a maximum level of 5. In Torna ~ The Golden Country, it is used to level up Vanguard Arts, Rear Guard Arts, Talent Arts, and Switch Arts.

Defeating enemies[edit]
Each enemy grants a certain amount of WP to all relevant characters upon defeat. The WP is given to the weapons the character had access to in the fight. The amount of WP granted can be modified in several ways:
- If an enemy's HP is reduced to 0 during a Chain Attack, any additional damage increases a so-called "bonus ratio". This increases the amount of WP awarded.
- If an enemy is defeated with a Fusion Combo active (not during a Chain Attack), "Joint Combo Finish" displays on-screen and WP gains are increased. The amount by which they are increased ranges from 40% for a stage 2 Fusion Combo to 100% at stage 7. See Fusion Combo#General effects for intermediate values.
- Drivers whose level is above or below that of the defeated enemy have their WP gains modified, independently of the above effects. See Level (XC2)#Level differences for the exact values.
Weaponry items[edit]
The key items Weaponry for Noobs, Intermediate Weaponry, and Ultimate Weaponry are used to increase a Driver's WP in a weapon of choice (by 1000, 2500, and 5000 respectively). They can be used by going to the Driver's "Enhance Arts" menu, hovering over the weapon type that needs WP, and pressing X. This brings up a menu where one of the weaponry key items currently on hand can be selected.
These items are obtained by completing the Affinity Chart of Blades. Blades with more crowns grant more and better weaponry items. Ultimate Weaponry are also offered by the traveling bards in Mor Ardain and Auresco for 400,000 bonus EXP.
