Diluses are enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X under the Theroid classification. These enemies can be distinguished from crocodiles thanks to the eye on the forehead and the colorful wing-like fins on its back.
These enemies are similar to Tersquals.
Description[edit]
Violent aquatic giants that attack anything around them, save for others of their kind. This behavior is due to their highly developed social tendencies, which are most easily observed in their pair-bond relationships. Young are reared by both parents, and after the female has successfully incubated an egg, the hatchling is taken into the male's mouth for protection. The female's temperament then becomes more volatile than usual, motivating it to attack all it sees in order to keep her child and mate fed.
Once mature, the offspring leaves its parents in search of other colonies.

Variations[edit]
There are two varieties of dilus:
- The purple dilus is common throughout Noctilum. It drops the Crimson Dilus Eye from the main body.
- The brown dilus exists at Lake Basel and the River Isle in Oblivia, with a tyrant named Sheldon, the Dentally Challenged at the West Ibra Ravine. It drops the Amber Dilus Eye from the main body.
In general, all diluses drop these items:
- Moving Dilus Tail from the tail.
- Pristine Dorsal Fin from the back appendage.
- Cloudy Eyeball from the eye.
- Quality Pelt from the main body.
- Muddy Pelt from the main body.
