Sylooth are giant Humanoid enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X that are native to Mira. They are rather similar to Gularth, although Sylooth are much more in tune with nature.

Description[edit]

Giant, two-legged beasts that thrive in woodland areas. Though relatively intelligent, they are not capable of speech. They live on photosynthetic energy derived from certain symbiotic trees, but can also absorb ether while respiring. Young or injured Sylooth may also consume fruits and leaves for supplemental strength.

Sylooth often band together in small groups for mutual protection, warding off stronger foes with sheer numbers. They have also been observed protecting the birds and insects that take up residence in the trees on their backs.

Additional Notes[edit]

Adsecula swarms fly around Sylooth in order to harvest the extract from the plants that grow on the Sylooth's heads.

In the mission Turf War, it's shown that Sylooth will fight each other to gain control of territory.

In combat[edit]

Sylooth attack with powerful Ether-based attacks like Ether Explosion. Also, late-game Sylooth like Pyotr, the Shepherd have the Flying Body Press, which inflicts Launch and is likely to kill since it has a physical power of 999.

Most Sylooth take 25% more damage from Beam attacks and have a 10% resistance to Ether. However, Yama, the Obliviator has a 100% resistance to Ether, so make sure to use a different type to deal with that Tyrant.

Sylooth do have low evasion and accuracy, and they hit rather slowly, so Decoy can help dodge a lot of their attacks.

If anybody makes contact with a Sylooth, they will be Launched, so be aware of its movements.
