Lore[edit]

  • Hal Jarque is the Gormotti special envoy who was sent to discuss the future of Mor Ardain and Gormott with Vient Horrison.
  • He comes from the White Chair.
  • He does not seem very good at leading people, sending his attendants on a dangerous errand to obtain a Melosian Honey. Those same attendants find that Hugo appears to be a far more capable leader in contrast.

Dialogue[edit]

During Sweetest Tidings[edit]

After meeting him at the Hoary Weald Camp
Hal Jarque
Do you think you could bring back my attendants who've gone to collect the Melosian Honey?
They should be searching for it in the nearby flower beds...
After he arrives in the Strategy Room
Hal Jarque
Ah! We met earlier...
I'm still very grateful for the kindness you showed us then.
Perhaps you followed us for some kind of reward?
Hm... I am the special envoy, but I'm afraid I can't spare any of my pocket money.
Perhaps Mr. Horrison will be more forthcoming. Why not pester him?

After completing Sweetest Tidings[edit]

Hal Jarque
E-Emperor Hugo?! Your Majesty! My apologies for not recognizing you before...
I must say that this Ardainian-made ship is quite remarkable.
We have Titan ships in Gormott, too, but nothing quite as impressive as this!
Yes, it's clear that we need to build a friendly relationship with Mor Ardain.
But actually, there are still those among the Gormotti elders who do not take kindly to Ardainians.
If the truth be known, one of the aims of this conference was to find out the best persuasive argument.
But at the very least, I promise to advise the elders that you, sir, and your friends are worthy of our trust.

After reaching Community level 4[edit]

Hal Jarque
You have to hand it to the Emperor, he really knows how to command the human spirit!
What? It's not from government business, just the result of interacting with so many different people?
Hrm, I see... This is something we Gormotti must learn from.
It's not possible to gain the people's trust just by dishing out orders...
No...it seems that the best way is to speak to them on a personal level and try to see things from their perspective.

After reaching Community level 5[edit]

Hal Jarque
There's a feeling of unease that's been spreading through Gormott - in the White Chair, especially.
We'll soon get orders from the chief to return home.
In such turbulent times, we must eadeavor to maintain friendly relations with Mor Ardain.
We plan to continue aligning with Mor Ardain as far as is possible.
We Gormotti plan to throw everything we have at supporting the Tornans.
There's an element of self-interest to this, of course, but they're people, so we must offer them our assistance.
There's value in helping those in trouble, no matter their social status or background...
That's a lesson I have learned directly from your example.
