Quests in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country are tasks given to the party, usually by NPCs or automatically triggered by story progression. Accepted and completed quests can be found in the Quest Log. There are a total of 210 quests across both Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country, with only a few expiring. Quests are listed on this page in the order they appear in a completed quest log, divided into sections based on the location from which they can be acquired according to the skip travel menu.

Types of quests

There are three different types of quests in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. They are as follows:

• Main Story Quests: Quests that are accepted automatically during the story and must be completed to progress.
• Regular Quests: Optional quests, mostly acquired by talking to NPCs or heading to places with the quest marker on the map.
• Blade Quests: Quests that involve either obtaining a Rare Blade's Core Crystal or are needed to unlock one of the Blade's key affinity lock or a node on its Affinity Chart.

Quest Log

The Quest Log's sorting feature.

The Quest Log is where every quests, both received and completed, by the party are found. It can be accessed from the main menu by accessing the "Quest Log" icon there, or by pressing "Y" while showing the "Current Objective" tab in the field, provided a quest is active. Doing so will open the Quest Log and show the active quest's page.

By default, the Quest Log shows thumbnails of every quests the party has accepted. It can be sorted by the quest's type, only showing either every quests, every Main Story Quests, every Regular Quests, or every Blade Quests, and by the quest's status, showing either every accepted quests only or every already completed quests only.

The view of the Quest Log can be changed from a thumbnail view showing the particular quest's thumbnail and its name under the picture, with a maximum of 6 quests displayed on the same page, to a list of quest titles only, displaying up to 8 quests on screen.

Completed quests are shown with golden laurels, either on the quest's thumbnail while in thumbnail view, or to the right of the quest's title in list view. The currently active quest will have a pink feather at the exact same spot as a completed quest's laurel.

The Quest Log in Torna ~ The Golden Country behaves exactly the same, aside from the fact that quests can only be sorted by all quests, Main Story Quests, and Regular Quests, due to there not being any Blade Quests in the game.

Quests in Torna ~ The Golden Country are tied to the Community as completing quests is one of the means to raise the community level. There are now only two types of quests, Main Story Quests and Regular Quests, behaving the same way as in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
