Hal Jarque, an inhabitant of the White Chair

The White Chair was a city on Gormott in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. It had the oldest and richest history in Gormott, with a fortress that many considered impenetrable. Since Hal Jarque needing to cross the Hoary Weald to arrive at Lascham Cove, the city was most likely located on either Gormott's left side or its neck. In the English script, the name is always preceded by the definite article when speaking.

Lore[edit]

During the Aegis War, the Gormotti Republic sent a special envoy from the White Chair, Hal Jarque, to meet with Vient Horrison, the Ardainian envoy, and discuss the future of both countries.

About 50 years before the beginning of the main game, during Mor Ardain's invasion of Gormott, the Ardainian army razed the city to the ground, leaving nothing behind. This prompted the Gormotti Republic to surrender to Mor Ardain, leading to their annexation as the Gormott Province.
