The Rhine Maiden is a weapon in the Xenosaga series.
Description[edit]
The Rhine Maiden is an anti-Gnosis supersonic weapon developed by Vector Industries. It is capable of destroying large swarms of Gnosis. The Rhine Maiden is installed on the Woglinde II, Wellgunde, Floßhilde, and Vector's corporate headquarters: The free orbiting mega-colony, the Dämmerung. The weapon can be deployed even before gating out of Hyperspace.

Early in the game, Wilhelm and the Red Testament discuss about the Rhine Maiden, claiming the data for it is now complete. The Rhine Maiden was later utilized when the Gnosis invades the Kukai Foundation. Miyuki Itsumi later reveals to Shion that she transferred to Second Division to see the weapon in action.

Rhine Maiden
Vector's latest development in weapons technology.
Named after Wagner's <Ring of the Nibelung: Prelude - Rhinegold>, in which the Rhinemaidens are three naiads who guard the magic Rhinegold lying at the bottom of the river.
The three ships which have this weapon onboard are called Woglinde, Wellgunde, and Flosshilde (after the original Rhinemaidens). The vessels themselves are massive battleships over 8000m in length, and are equipped with this specialized anti-Gnosis weapon.

A Vector-developed specialized anti-Gnosis weapon installed on board the
Dämmerung, as well as the three Woglinde-class cruisers, Wellgunde, Floßhilde,
and the Wuglinde II. When these ships attack in unison, the power of the weapon
is showcased to its fullest.
The ship Woglinde was most likely loaned to the Federation Army in order to collect data regarding the Rhine Maiden.
Xenosaga I & II
ラインの乙女
ヴェクターで開発された対グノーシス用の特殊兵器のことで、曙光とヴォークリンデ級巡洋艦『ヴォークリンデⅡ』『ヴェルグンデ』『フロースヒルデ』の三隻に搭載されており、それらの連携攻撃によって最大級の威力を発揮する。
同型艦である『ヴォークリンデ』は、このラインの乙女のデータ収集用として連邦軍に貸与されていたと思われる。
