Mighty Link is the Unity Skill used by Matthew and A when the two are paired in Future Redeemed. It is upgraded by acquiring Lessons in Unity, vol. 1.

Overview[edit]

Mechanics[edit]

Mighty Link, like the Chain Ring and Shackle Ring, works by building up a list of the previous several Arts used. The Skill provides stronger bonuses the more Arts are in the list (mostly; see Benefits).

Using an Art in any of the following cases will clear the current list and start a new list with the Art used, removing the built-up bonuses:

  • The Art in question is already in the list.
  • The Art was initiated more than 15 frames (0.5 seconds) after the end of the previous Art (that being when control of the player is regained). If the Art did not end because it was blocked, the list is still cleared. Cancelling ignores this rule.
  • The list was at its maximum length before the Art is used.

The maximum length of the list depends upon whether or not the Skill was upgraded: 4 when unupgraded and 8 when upgraded (despite each character only having 7 unique Arts, meaning that the list can never actually have 8 Arts in it at once).

This means that to use the Skill most effectively, one must use a string of different Arts with no repeats, and try to cancel whenever possible. When using (for example) the unupgraded Skill in this way, the first Art used will be unaffected, the second will be slightly stronger, the third stronger still, and the fourth will have the strongest benefits — assuming no Art was used twice. If a fifth Art is used immediately afterwards, it will receive no benefits from the Skill even if it was not used previously in the string of Arts, due to the unupgraded Skill having a maximum list length of 4. However, using it will start a new string, allowing the previously-used Arts to receive bonuses again from their use.

Using a Fusion Art only adds the relevant Primary Art to the list. The Skill has no effect during Chain Attacks and ignores Unity Combos.

Benefits[edit]

The following properties of Arts are improved by Mighty Link:

  • Damage (The damage is increased by an independent multiplier, making this effect particularly strong among damage increases.)
  • Healing (for Arts that directly heal the target)
  • Buff, debuff, Field Art, and Art Combo duration
  • Debuff and Reaction success rate
  • Range of area-of-effect moves

The strength of the benefit depends upon how many Arts are in the current list (see above):

List length Benefit strength
1 +0%
2 +10%
3 +25%
4 +40%
5 +55%
6 +80%
7 +0%

The list always includes the Art in question, so it is always of length 1 or greater. Having 7 Arts in the current list results in no benefits (this is only achievable by using all of the character's Primary Arts, Ouroboros Powers, and Talent Art in succession).
