Eclipse Soul is a debuff in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It forces the affected character to attack their allies. Playable characters affected with this debuff cannot be controlled by the player. Additionally, the battle will be considered lost if the controlled member is the only ally still alive.

Eclipse Soul can only be inflicted by Moebius M's Art of the same name. In the first phase of the fight, the debuff does not visibly appear on the character's list of debuffs. However, it does in the second phase. Moreover, in the second phase, affected characters become targetable by their allies.

In both cases, Moebius M will ignore character aggro, instead choosing to target a random ally among those with the most populated role, following Attacker > Tank > Healer in case of a tie. This is likely to prevent less expendable members (particularly Healers) from being controlled.

Interlinked characters are valid targets for Eclipse Soul. M will use the interlink's role for deciding who to target. When the interlink overheats (she will never cancel it early), the debuff ends.
