This page lists all of what Alvis says during gameplay in Xenoblade Chronicles. float TOC As a guest, Alvis has significantly fewer lines than a full party member, and several of them cannot be heard in regular gameplay (without cheats): * He cannot be the party leader, his level is fixed, and he only appears in one specific battle. * The battle he is in begins immediately. The player must lose and try again for "battle start" lines to play. * He has gems equipped that prevent him from ever becoming incapacitated. ==Battle== ===Battle start=== The lines that play are based on the difference in level of the enemy and the party leader. Black-tagged enemies trigger "overlevelled" lines, red-tagged enemies trigger "underlevelled" lines, and those in between are "equal-levelled".<!--it's hard to say if it's possible to be underlevelled in the Wii version, but DE's expert mode certainly allows it--> ====Partner, equal-levelled==== * We must remove all obstacles in our path. * Let us begin. ====Partner, underlevelled==== * With the power of the Monado, this presents no problem. ====Partner, overlevelled==== * Shulk! Use Purge! ===Auto-attack=== * Feel my power. * HuuuuAH! * HuuuuuA! ===Arts=== ====Using arts==== When the player selects an art, one of two lines can play, while if the AI selects an art, only one can play. Chain attacks and warnings allows the player to select an art for AI members, and either line can play accordingly. {|class="wikitable" !Art!!Lines (player only)!!Lines (player or AI) |- |Cross Ray|| * This is the end for you. || * No escape! Cross Ray! |- |Lost Ray|| * Resistance is futile! || * Lost Ray! Whoeayah! |} ===Attack blocked=== * Odd. * Rather tough. ===Taking damage=== ====Average hit==== * Aah! * Aa! ====Critical hit====<!-- no enemies can cause blow-down in the fights he's in and you can't play as him to jump off cliffs--> * Not bad. ===Low HP=== =====Shulk at Low HP, response===== * Do not worry. I am here. ====Entire party at half HP, response==== * Let us change tactics. ===Reviving=== ====Reviving Shulk==== * Shulk, come! On your feet! * Do you want to cast the future away? ===Killing foes while in combat with multiple enemies=== * Shulk. Wonderful. ===Enemy HP=== <!-- only says his line at third HP for whatever reason====Half HP (at random)==== These lines play when 's attack is the one that reduced the enemy's HP. =====Response to others===== --> ====Third HP==== This line plays when Alvis's attack is the one that reduced the enemy's HP. * Shulk, let us end this. =====Response to Shulk===== * Just a little more. * Let us finish this quickly! ===Enemy count=== ====One enemy left==== * Stay focused until the very end. ===Aid=== "Aid" is a catch-all term for being healed or being buffed.<!--Alvis lacks any aggro-related lines--> ====Aid received==== * Thank you, Shulk. * Much appreciated. ===Group commands=== ====Partner, response to others==== * Understood. ===Burst affinity=== ====Crit trigger==== * Now you understand. * Looks rather painful. ====Crit/dodge prompt==== * Shulk. ====Crit response==== * Impressive! * Good! Nice attack. * Excellent attack. ====Dodge trigger==== * I'm afraid I can't let you do that. * Heheheheheheh. ====Dodge response==== * Nice dodge! * Impressive movement. * Well dodged! ====Crit/dodge success==== * Hahahahahahahah. ====Blocked/miss trigger==== * Did that not hit? * Most peculiar. ====Blocked/miss response==== * Calm yourself, Shulk. * No good can come from haste. ====Blocked/miss success==== * Shulk, thank you. ====Blocked/miss failure==== * This is all part of the plan. ===Leader, missing two or more attacks in a row (at random)=== * This is not good. ===Tension=== ====High tension==== * Is this feeling...excitement? {|class="wikitable" !Ally!!Prompt!!Alvis' response |- |Shulk |I'm really feeling it. |You seem exhilerated, Shulk. |- |} ===Encouragement=== ====Encourage Shulk==== * Shulk! You can do it! * Use the power of the Monado! * You can do it, Shulk! * I believe in you, Shulk! ===Party gauge=== ====One bar filled==== Alvis lacks a line for Shulk to respond to. {|class="wikitable" !Ally!!Prompt!!Alvis' response |- |Shulk |Okay, guys. Now we're pulling together. | You have become an adept fighter. |- |} ===Chain attacks=== ====Party gauge filled (response)==== * I will follow your lead. ====Receive from last==== * Understood. * So it seems. ====Chain link==== * We have not finished yet. ===Visions=== ====Receiving a warning==== Alvis speaks before Shulk can get a word in. * So you require my assistance? * Is that what you desire? * I know, Shulk. ====Vision tag breaks==== * The victor's future is already set. ===Unsorted=== <!-- stored in the same spot Dickson's first unsorted line is, and same deal: likely for either vision tag breaks or vision warnings but i never heard him say this--> * This is only one potential solution. <!-- stored in the same spot Dickson's "This is a royal pain." line is, so likely the same criteria for that (guessing low tension and unused?) oddly Alvis has an untranslated line just before this one which may be proof it's unused--> * This is rather troublesome. <!-- stored where standard party members' unsorted pessimistic lines are (ex: Reyn's This ain't lookin' peachy.) so no clue what it's for but probably same criteria as those--> * The future seems unclear. <!-- stored where standard party members' unsorted encouraging lines are (ex: Reyn's Keep up the pressure, guys!) so no clue what it's for but probably same criteria as those--> * We shall overpower the enemy! <!-- stored where standard party members' unsorted optimistic lines are (ex: Reyn's Ehy! We're doin' pretty well!) so no clue what it's for but probably same criteria as those--> * All according to plan. <!-- stored between his unused battle start lines and his "understood" command response. no idea what it could be for.--> * Now I have seen how brightly you can shine. <!-- stored between his "crit/dodge burst affinity success" chuckling and his Arts lines, no idea what it's for--> * Right! Let us finish this. <!-- his last battle audio file and same deal as the other party members--> * Not good enough! ==Unused== ===Battle start=== ====Partner, underlevelled==== * I would advise pulling back. ====Partner, disliked enemy (at random)==== Like other guests, Alvis has no enemy preferences. * I am not fond of these things at all. ====Partner, favoured enemy (at random)==== Like other guests, Alvis has no enemy preferences. * Leave this battle to me. ===Shulk is incapacitated=== * This is your limit. At least, for now. ===Incapacitated=== * [cough] This is...unexpected. ===Killing foes while in combat with multiple enemies=== ====Leader, enemy was 6 or more levels lower (at random)==== * We cannot lose. ===Help=== ====Help other from topple==== * Shulk! Get up. * Shulk, stand up! ====Helped from topple==== * This isn't normal. ====Help other from daze, sleep, or confuse==== * Shulk! Snap out of it. * Shulk, wake up. ====Helped from daze, sleep, or confuse==== * Thank you, Shulk. ===Burst affinity=== ====Blocked/miss prompt==== * Shulk! ===Chain attacks=== ====Party gauge filled (response)==== * I am ready, Shulk. ====Start==== * Follow my lead! ====Pass to next==== * Shulk! * Shulk, your turn! ===Win=== If the fight ends with anyone incapacitated, this is a "close win". Otherwise, it's a "clean win". However, the cutscene begins before any of this can play. ====Clean win, response to Shulk==== * That's right, Shulk. * We should keep our guard up. * This area seems safe enough. * Right. Let us move on. ====Close win, response to Shulk==== * Do you want to rest? * Let's tend to our injuries. ==Notes== <references /> XC1 character dialogue navbox
