Yumea (ユミア, Yumea) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles. She is Kallian's and Tyrea's mother.
Appearance and personality[edit]
Yumea is an old High Entia with dark eyes and two tails of hair. She wears an ornate robe of lavender colours with blueish pauldrons and a large bustle.
Yumea is a purity supremist, considering half-blooded High Entia to be disgusting scum, and Homs below that. She is not fool enough to take any action against her enemies herself, instead working through others and spinning lies to maintain her own position.
Story arc[edit]
Princess Melia returns to Alcamoth, successful in killing a rogue Telethia. First Consort Yumea is outraged that she was not killed in the attempt, and vents to her goon Tyrea about the failure. Intent on getting rid of Melia, when the rest of the imperial family discusses how best to proceed with her succession, she suggests the Trial of the Tomb, an old procedure known to be very dangerous. Prince Kallian objects, but Emperor Sorean agrees, and Melia accepts. Yumea then orders Tyrea to have the Homs that helped Melia, Shulk and his party, killed. The attempt on Shulk fails, and he proceeds to help the attempt on Melia fail. Combined with a suspicion of Kallian's, enough evidence is presented to point to Yumea, and she is locked in the Tower of Investigation. Melia explains to the party that Yumea is not her biological mother, but does not go into further detail.
Much time later (during Melancholy Tyrea), the Bionis awakens, and all pure-blooded High Entia are transformed into Telethia. Yumea is among them, and ends up venturing down the Bionis, attacking Colony 6. The party catches up with her in Makna Forest, but they believe the Telethia to be Tyrea, who was found in Colony 6 previously. Tyrea appears after the battle and reveals that she was directed by Yumea, who either knew or suspected this would happen, to put her out of her misery. Melia does the job instead, and it is reasoned that Tyrea is quarter-Homs, with Yumea as her mother.
