Battle[edit]

The gameplay is turn-based. Similar to Xenogears, standard attacks are executed in combinations of up to three button presses.

Field[edit]

The gameplay of Episode I is one of the more linear games in the series. There are very few side quests and NPCs to talk to. Some of the things to do outside the main story include finding Segment Addresses hidden all over the world and helping the Professor and his assistant Scott to complete Erde Kaiser.

Etymology[edit]

The subtitle, Der Wille zur Macht, is German and can be translated into The Will to Power. Like the other games, it was named after the work of Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche.

Regional differences[edit]

  • The scene where Albedo menaces MOMO with a knife and decapitating himself with it is altered, removing the knife and leaving Albedo to rip off his head with his bare hands. However the sound effects that accompany these are not removed.
    • It is cited by many that they preferred the altered version of the scene over the original.
  • Albedo putting his hand inside MOMO's body is changed to lifting his hand over her head.
