Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is an enhanced port of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch 2. It includes features such as enhanced graphics, a new Blade and quest, and additional gameplay features. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available both as a standalone purchase and as a paid upgrade to the original version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is independent of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass: neither upgrade to the base game grants the features of the other, and it is required to have both to experience the updated graphics in the digital version of Torna ~ The Golden Country. However, the physical version of Torna ~ The Golden Country will receive a free update on the same day as the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (30 July 2026) enabling the updated graphics when played on the Nintendo Switch 2.
List of changes[edit]
- The resolution has been upgraded to 4K in docked mode and 1080p in portable mode. Likewise, the framerate has been increased to 60 frames per second.
- A new action battle mode is added, where the player plays as a group of Blades set on a Merc Mission.
- An additional rare Blade is added, with an associated Blade Quest.
- Pyra's and Mythra's designs can be customised with new equipment.
Unlisted changes[edit]
- (unconfirmed) Any version of the game can be used to play in any language,[1] regardless of region,[2] with the exception of the region-locked Japanese Nintendo Switch 2s, which can only play in Japanese.
