Weapons are items in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. They are the basis of a party member's offensive stats. Unlike equipment, a character must have a weapon equipped (they cannot have an empty weapon slot).

- Weapon type: Every party member has their own weapon type that only they can equip. Guests only have a single weapon assigned to them.
- Attack: Every weapon has a minimum and maximum amount of attack. The base damage a character will deal is a random number between these two values. They can be increased with Attack Plus and Attack Stability gems.
- In the original Wii and 3DS versions, there is a bug known as the "damage range glitch", which causes all weapons' attack range to never surpass the minimum + 99 even if the maximum is set higher. This is fixed in the Definitive Edition.
- Defence: Some, but not all, weapons increase the user's physical and ether defences.
- Gem slots: A weapon has between 0 and 3 gem slots. Some gems can only be mounted onto a weapon. The effect of gems mounted onto a weapon can be augmented with Weapon Power gems.
- Unique weapons have gems tied to the weapon. They cannot be removed or replaced with other gems.
- Anti-Mechon: Early in the game, only the Monado can damage Mechon; other weapons deal half damage with ether attacks and 1 damage with physical attacks. Later on, weapons that can damage Mechon become available for all characters. The item's description usually says if a weapon has this property. Anti-Mechon weapons are often weaker in other stats compared to "normal" weapons available at the time.
- Critical rate: Defines the user's critical rate. The base critical hit rate is 5%, and this adds to it.
- Block rate: Defines the user's block rate. The base block rate is 0%, and this adds to it.
- Appearance: Similar to equipment, a weapon does not just change the character's stats - its appearance also changes based on the weapon equipped.
- In the Definitive Edition, the weapon's appearance can be changed independently from the weapon equipped. The player can set any weapon that was ever unlocked in any save file - even across Future Connected. The Monado's appearance cannot be changed until New Game Plus for the main game or after beating the Fog King for Future Connected.
- Value: Almost every weapon can be sold at shops for a certain amount of gold. The purchase price of a weapon is ten times its sale value.
