汎用コメディというお題、汎用性がありつつキャッチーなものが作りたいと思っていました。どのコメディ曲もプログレ要素の多いデモだったのですが、１曲としての纏まりをと注文を受け、今の形になりました。元々「トムとジェリー」のような、メリハリはあるけど流れるようなオケ曲を目指していて、ある時息子が変顔を出しては隠れ、また変顔を出してというのを見て、あ、「間」だ！と気づきこの曲が生まれました。
