Tranquility[edit]

Vess is seen shopping in Torigoth but is unable to find what she is looking for. Rex and the party ask her what's wrong, beginning a fetch quest for the materials. After the materials are collected, Vess invites the party to her house where she lives with her Driver. Here, Vess and Driver, an aged man named Mabon, keep the party for dinner, though she asks the party to fetch her firewood from Dward beforehand, during which Vess reveals her specialty, dumplings.

After dinner, Mabon secretly asks the party to go fetch him some choclit, along with a Fruity Rice Ball for Vess. After the party delivers them, starting with Mabon's choclit, Vess figures out Mabon's plan, planning to tell him off later.

After the party reports to Mabon, and another one of his coughing fits happen, he asks the party to go fetch him a pair of golden bracers they hid 30 years before. Mabon claims that they were hidden at the Fief of Forgetfulness, in Mor Ardain. Vess interrupts them, disagreeing with Mabon, claiming they hid the bracers at the Ruins of Fountain Park in Uraya. The conversation ends with Mabon telling the party to check both spots. Little to their knowledge, however, they separated the bracers and one was hidden in each spot. After returning to Mabon, he requests that the party gives one bracer to each of his children. One in the Urayan Capital, and the other in Alba Cavanich.

Once they return, the party tells Vess and Mabon how the children are doing, giving them gifts from the both of them. Vess returns to the kitchen to make more dumplings. After she leaves, her Driver begins to cough violently again, then he talks to the party. He says how he wants a better life for Vess, coughs once more, then falls asleep. In his sleep, he passes away, causing Vess returns to her Core Crystal and is retrieved by a distraught party.

Reunion[edit]

After resting at Coedwig Inn, a newly awakened Vess unknowingly asks her Driver to go visit her former home. There, she appears to recognize the house, despite not remembering anything.

At the same time, Noelle and Antis, Mabon's children, who were raised by him and Vess after his wife's passing, arrive at the house. They recognize Vess, happy that she came back, though they are soon shocked by Vess not recognizing them. Vess's Driver explains that she lost her memories, with the children deducing they are Vess's new Driver. The two are relieved that Vess's new Driver is a good person. Vess cuts in the conversation, asking one of two things.

She can ask Antis and Noelle if the house is their family's. They talk about their father, who passed recently and was the owner. Vess commiserates them, asking if they need any help. Vess commiserates them, asking if they need any help. Antis refuses, instead asking why she came to this house, which she struggles to answer. The topic veers towards the children's upbringing, with Vess remaining in the dark about her being the one who raised Antis and Noelle. She ultimately asks about the whereabouts of said person, with the children answering that they are taking care of important business, and they wish to meet them again soon.

She can also ask if they knew her old self. They tell her how much they owe her and that they are glad to have met her again. Vess inquires about the house's owner, with Noelle replying it was their father's. She asks them whether their father knew her, with Noelle answering he relied on her heavily. Vess apologizes about her inability to remember, with Antis stating once more how happy they are to see her again. Vess gives them dumplings, prompting the children to reminisce. The heart-to-heart ends with Vess asking whether she could visit again sometime, with Noelle telling her that it is also her home.

Vess
I don't really mind staying here...but I'd like to have more opportunities to make dumplings for everyone.
My dumplings are quite good, you know!
