The Urayan Tunnels are an area in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. They are the insides of the Urayan Mountains, and compose the west section of the Pentelas Region.
Geography[edit]
The tunnels are first accessed via the northern entrance, at the Garf Mine Track adjacent to the Rae-Bel Tableland's aptly named Urayan Tunnels, Entrance. The first chamber is known as Mine No. 1, and despite being a mine within the mountains, it is not claustrophobic, with open space approximately the volume of a large building. Only slightly further south, the tunnels open up yet drastically further to become cavernous, with an open volume comparable to the size of the mountains themselves. Colossal rocky pillars stretch from the bottom of the area to the top, and patterns can be seen etched in them as well as in the stone walls. Light shines through a hole in the ceiling to the west, allowing some amounts of vegetation to thrive. The volume is even big enough to have its own weather patterns (mostly clouds and fog). Besides the natural environment, ruins of the past can also be found, especially around the Ruins of Seebu in the western section of the tunnels.
East past the Ruins of Seebu, Arachnos become the dominant fauna, and the ground turns grey while their webs line the walls. Here, the area again becomes a mine with modern equipment at Mine No. 2 to the south and Mine No. 3 to the north, with the Quarry Road joining them. The latter mine connects to the Cavern Waterway and flows into the Great Cotte Falls' Aquifer Exhaust. The east of Mine No. 3 also connects to the Falls via Myma Gate.
