A standard U.R.T.V.

U.R.T.V.s (spelled URTV in Episode III), short for U-DO Retro Virus, are a species in the Xenosaga games. Dmitri Yuriev is the genetic father of all 669 U.R.T.V.s. Their sole purpose is to destroy U-DO.

Description[edit]

General[edit]

U.R.T.V.s are a Designer Children variant, born from the Life Recycling Act created by Dmitri Yuriev in an effort to destroy U-DO after coming into contact with it; thus considered to be Life Recycling Variants. They are essentially clones of Yuriev, having inherited his blond hair and blue eyes. Female U.R.T.V.s are much more unstable and usually die very quickly. All U.R.T.V.s have a number imprinted in red on their palms.

Infected U.R.T.V.s[edit]

Infected U.R.T.V.s are standard U.R.T.V.s that have come in contact with U-DO's waveforms, destroying the mind, unable to make rational decision and only attacks anything it sees. They are capable of mutating into even more powerful forms.

Variant U.R.T.V.s[edit]

Variant U.R.T.V.s are a group of four specialized U.R.T.V.s designed numbers 666 through 669. They have a different hair color and their wavelengths are much stronger than the standard variants.

669 units were created by the late Dr. Dmitri Yuriev, head of the Yuriev Institute.

Dr. Yuriev is the genetic father of the U.R.T.V.

Weapons designed to annihilate U-DO.

An acronym for "U-DO Retro Virus." Weapons equipped with anti-U-DO waveforms and designed to annihilate U-DO.

They are organic weapons (designer children) based on the genetic information of Dmitri Yuriev, who planned the project. In order to create an anti-U-DO waveform, multiple URTVs must link up with the link master.

A total of 669 units were created, each holding a serial number from 001 to 669. During the third descent operation of the Miltian Conflict, serial numbers in the 500s and 600s were sent in.

According to records, both male and female URTVs existed; however , the female URTVs were more unstable than the male ones, and most were disposed of during training.

Intended for deployment as weapons, URTVs were designed to be well-balanced, both emotionally and in their ability. However, the existence of several high-spec individuals far exceeding standard parameters has been confirmed. These are called variant URTVs, and they are likely to have different mission assignments than standard URTVs.

Albedo, Jr., and Gaignun are such beings. 669 units were created by the late Dmitri Yuriev, head of the Yuriev Institute. Pellegri calls them "Life Recycling Mutants", and fears they may be mentally unstable.
