Tyrea (タルコ, Talco) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. She is an inquisitor of the Bionite Order. She is Yumea's daughter and Kallian's half-sister. Her side quest, Melancholy Tyrea, is the only quest in Xenoblade Chronicles to feature cutscenes with voice acting.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Tyrea is an average, thin High Entia with grey eyes and a three distinct locks of hair, one braided. She wears a dark outfit of browns and blacks, composed of a coat, leotard, gloves, thigh-high socks, and boots.

Tyrea is not seen for long enough outside the confines of others to well judge her own personality. She seems to be vindictive towards those outside her circle of acquiantences, but secretely cares for those inside it.

Story arc[edit]

Xenoblade Chronicles[edit]

Tyrea is first seen being yelled at by First Consort Yumea over Princess Melia not being successfully killed. After discussions with others, Yumea sets Tyrea to try again, and maybe to take out the annoying Homs that accompanied Melia as well. Tyrea sends five assassins to get Shulk and his party, while herself sneaking into the High Entia Tomb to meet Melia during her succession ritual. The plan fails miserably; Shulk's group survives easily and uses the attack as partial motivation to enter the tomb themselves and save Melia. Tyrea escapes.

Long after, the Bionis awakens, and all pure-blooded High Entia are transformed into Telethia. An unconscious Tyrea is then found just outside Colony 6. It is unclear why she did not transform, and they are unsure if the risk is over, but the party rescue her anyway. Melia says she's figured out that Tyrea is Yumea's secret daughter. Tyrea wakes and proclaims her disdain for everything, while Reyn riles her up by saying she's jealous of Melia.

Shortly after, Tyrea vanishes, and a Telethia raids the colony and leaves. It is assumed that Tyrea transformed and left, so the party goes to find the Telethia in Makna Forest. Upon beating it, Tyrea arrives and reveals that this Telethia is Yumea, who had previously asked her to put out of her misery. Melia takes responsibility for the job instead, and Tyrea leaves.
