The Bereaved and Those Left Behind is Disc 2, Track 17 on the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Original Soundtrack and Disc 13, Track 17 on the Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. Its melody uses motifs from Off-Seer - Mio's A section at 0:41 and 2:33, from its B section at 1:21 and 3:07, and from Off-Seer - Noah's B section at 1:21.

- Mwamba, Noah, Eunie and Lanz discuss the former's Homecoming in Chapter 1.
- Noah and Mio discuss the legacy of people who die and those left behind by the campfire in Chapter 1.
- Ethel finishes telling the party the story of her rivalry with Cammuravi in Chapter 3.
- Taion sees a Saffronia and remembers Nimue in Chapter 3.
- Mio tells Eunie about Miyabi in Chapter 4. (The track pauses while Mio plays Off-Seer - Miyabi, and resumes when she stops.)
- The party reflects upon Ethel and Cammuravi's fight to the death by the campfire in Chapter 4.
- Monica shows the party the Remembrance Stones in the City, and explains what a 'spouse' is, in Chapter 5.
- The party discusses N's motivations while imprisoned in Chapter 5.
- Noah and Mio's past incarnations reach their Homecoming in front of their son in Chapter 6.
- Noah considers the meaning behind the smiles of the dying before a hooded figure in Chapter 6.
- The party considers the choice N was forced to make in Chapter 6.
- Mio recounts her experiences in Colony Omega during Side Story: Mio.
- Noah and Mio successfully convince N to join them in Chapter 7.

- Matthew explains the Ouroboros power to Nikol in Chapter 2.
- Na'el tells Matthew she'd rather the City and Moebius stay out of each other's way in a flashback at the start of Chapter 3.
- Rex tells Glimmer off after the fight against W in Chapter 3.
- City citizens, including the children, head off to form a second City in a flashback in Chapter 3.
- A explains how Alpha arose from Ontos in Chapter 3.

ミオのテーマ曲とも言えるアグヌスの 「おくりびと」 のフレーズを野口明生氏にピアノアレンジしてもらった一曲 です。 僕から野口氏へのお題は「ミオ自身が死への不安を感じながらも、もしかするともっと生きられるかもしれ ないという微かな希望」という内容でした。 野口氏から送られてきたデモは繊細で美しく、 切なさや不安、 希望 が完璧に表現されていました。 この時点で既に完成していましたが、そこに僕なりの解釈としてストリングスを追 加してみました。 最高のコラボレーション曲となりました。
