Thames is an area in Xenogears. It is a floating salvaging vessel located in the Aquvy region.

Story

The Thames is a large floating dock that travels across the sea performing salvage operations for various clients, including the Ethos. A community of seafaring individuals occupy the vessel. This most notably includes the unnamed Thames Captain and his first mate, Hans. Various sections of the craft include the bridge (fourth floor), Beer Hall (third floor), Clinic (second floor), deck (first floor), Materials Loading Dock (basement floor one) and Dock (basement floor two). The Beer Hall, which directly connects to the bridge is said to be the only establishment of its kind in the Aquvy area.

When Fei and Elly are stranded at sea after the Goliath crash, the Thames eventually comes across them on some floating wreckage and recovers them. The two of them are quickly introduced to the captain, but fighting between the Yggdrasil and Haishao break out nearby soon afterwards. Fei and Elly take part in fighting off the Haishao and soon members of the Yggdrasil also come aboard the Thames including Bart and Margie. Both the Bladegash and Haishao launch another attack on the Thames causing the party to head out and fight them. Fei is greatly injured in the latter fight and is brought back to the Thames where the party is fortunate enough to meet Billy, his sister Primera and father Jessie. Billy agrees to bring Fei to the Ethos Headquarters to get Fei medical treatment. Later in the game the Thames is attacked by Wels released from the Solaris vessel Ezekiel, and the party comes to help out. The party returns again later to get deep sea equipment so it can head to the Sargasso and destroy the final Gate hiding Solaris from the surface.

The Thames is destroyed offscreen by Deus Angels during the events of Disc 2. Hans relocates to the Snowfield Hideout along with his family and the Captain, first though dead, appears later on as well.

Geography

The Thames is located in the Aquvy region, at the southwestern corner of the world, although on the World Map, it can be seen sailing all corners of the world.
