The Subcommittee on Close Encounters, often shortened to the S.O.C.E. or Contact Subcommittee, is a clerical branch of the Galaxy Federation government in the Xenosaga series. Their primary goal is combating the Gnosis phenomenon.

Episode I
S.O.C.E. (Subcommittee on Close Encounters)
A panel of researchers convened by the Federation government in T.C. 4754 to counter the Gnosis phenomena.
While it is called a "Sub" committee, it has over 2000 members representing government agencies, corporations, and various scientific fields. At its operational core are seven members, each of whom holds high positions in the Federation.
Juli Mizrahi, MOMO's creator, is one of the seven members.
Episode III
Contact Subcommittee
A research committee established to respond to the Gnosis phenomenon.

respond the Gnosis phenomenon.
Seven expert members, including Representative Juli Mizrahi, serve as the
group's central core. Together with the other committee members, the so-called
"subcommittee" numbers over 2000 people.
The implementation of the Zohar Project, the recovery of the Original Zohar,
and the analysis of the Y-Data were all advanced by the Contact Subcommittee,
which was at the center of each project.
Once Dmitri Yuriev returned to the Federation Parliament, implementation work on the Zohar Project was transferred to the military, and the Subcommittee participated in the project as a supporting player.
Xenosaga I & II
接触小委員会
T.C.4754にグノーシス現象に対処するために連邦政府によって設立された研究委員会。
ユリ・ミズラヒを含む七人の専門委員が中枢機能の役割を果たし、それ以外の委員の数を合わせると小委員会といいながらも2000人あまりにも及ぶ。
プロジェクトゾハルの推進やオリジナルゾハルの回収、Ｙ資料の解析等もこの接触小委員会が中心となって進められている。
