Song of Nephilim (Xenosaga III ver.) is a track in Xenosaga II to III: A Missing Year and Xenosaga Episode III. It is a remix of Nephilim from the Xenosaga II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse ~Movie Scene Soundtrack~, and by extension, of Song of Nephilim from the Xenosaga Original Soundtrack. It also contains a melody based upon that of my long forgotten cloistered sleep (unreleased work of Xenosaga) at 1:07.
It plays in the following instances:
A Missing Year[edit]
- Almadel realises she's been given someone else's memories while the Song of Nephilim starts playing in Chapter 5.
Xenosaga Episode III[edit]
- The Song of Nephilim begins playing on Old Miltia during the Third Descent.
Trivia[edit]
Like Nephilim and (to a lesser extent) Song of Nephilim, Song of Nephilim (Xenosaga III ver.) is based upon the Dies Irae, a Gregorian chant often used as a motif in classical and modern music to signify death.
