Second Miltia is a planet in the Xenosaga series. It is the home of the Miltian autonomous government after the original Miltia was lost during the Miltian Conflict. It is also where Shion and Jin Uzuki's family home is located.
Story[edit]
History[edit]
Before the outbreak of the Miltian Conflict, emigration efforts to move some of the populous of Miltia to a newly terraformed planet 10 parsecs (about 33 light years) away from the Miltian star system had begun. Soon after the Miltian Conflict, this planet came to be used as a refuge for the survivors. Shion and Jin Uzuki were among these. Over time, Second Miltia became less of a refugee planet and more of an independent planet with advanced technological and economic development. Helmer, who had led the Federation's Special Operations troops as Lieutenant General during the Miltian conflict, now leads Second Miltia's autonomous government as a Representative in the Galaxy Federation Parliament. The Kukai Foundation, which was formed by Second Miltia following the Conflict, works in close proximity with Helmer.
Episode I[edit]
Reaching Second Miltia is the primary goal of Episode I for many members of the party for different reasons. Second Miltia later gets caught in the crossfire in a U-TIC plot when they framed the Kukai Foundation for treason as part of Plan 31 and Plan 401 in an effort to capture MOMO by stripping Second Miltia of their vested rights to the planet. However, the plot was thwarted due to Shion Diving into KOS-MOS's subconscious to retrieve data in the Encephalon that proved their innocence.
Second Miltia is later seen in the finale where Albedo Piazzolla targets the planet with Proto Merkabah. After shutting down its reactor core, Proto Merkabah threatens to crash into Second Miltia, prompting KOS-MOS to break Proto Merkabah up to let the pieces burn in the atmosphere harmlessly. Later, the Elsa makes its descend into Second Miltia.
Episode II[edit]
The party arrives at Second Miltia via the Elsa at the start of the game. At the space port the group splits up, with Shion, Allen and KOS-MOS heading to Vector Second Division, while Jr., Ziggy and chaos remain with MOMO. As they depart the Space Port, Jr. and the others are pursued by Richard and Hermann in their A.M.W.S.s, hoping to seize MOMO. They flee through the streets of the city and eventually take them on, gaining some help from Canaan when he arrives in Asher to fight them and Pellegri off. Meanwhile, once KOS-MOS is left with Second Division, Shion heads to the city and Moby Dick's Cafe where she runs into Jr. and chaos, and soon after her brother Jin when he comes inside. Shion, Junior and chaos heads to the Uzuki Residence where Shion argues with her brother, and Jin and chaos are able to catch up. Jr. and the others accompany MOMO at the U.M.N. Control Center where Helmer, Juli and Gaignun hope to review the Y-Data stored within her. However a trap set by Albedo is soon revealed and MOMO cuts off her neural pathway to stop it, falling unconscious. The party heads into MOMO's subconscious domain shortly afterwards.
In the post-game, the party can visit the Other Professor's lab to activate the Forbidden Device that leads to Heaven's Ruins as part of the Dark Erde Kaiser side quest.
Episode III[edit]
Shion Uzuki made Pedea Island her home after leaving Vector Industries. It is unknown if Second Miltia is part of the planetary disappearance caused by Abel's Ark, but a transmission from Helmer in the ending suggests that Second Miltia was spared.

The planent is 13,200km in diameter, with a gravity ratio 1.03. It was only recently terraformed, so it still has an abundance of forests. The atmosphere-generating nanomachines within the ocean are still active, causing the planet to appear light green from space.
Shion's parents' home is located here.
Episode III
Second Miltia
The capital planet of the current Miltian autonomous state.
With Old Miltia, the previous capital planet, swallowed up into the space-time
anomaly, the capital was hurriedly relocated to a habitable planet that had
just completed Stage 2 terraforming within the same Tantus Arm.
The planet is still being modified today, but primeval forests still flourish
throughout the land. It is blessed with a great deal of water, making it
reminiscent of Lost Jerusalem.
Helmer, Representative of Second Miltia's autonomous state government, is
currently at the helm. The government contributed to the establishment of the
Kukai Foundation; in practice, the two are deeply connected, working as a
single group or force.
Shion and Jin's house is located in the suburbs of Second Miltia. Immigration
to the planet has been taking place since the tail end of Stage 1 terraforming,
but Shion's grandfather apparently settled there before that time.
The planet is 13,200 kilometers in diameter. Its gravity is 1.03 times that of Earth.
Xenosaga I & II

かつて主星があった旧ミルチアが局所事象変移に巻き込まれてしまったため、急遽、同タンタス腕内にあるテラフォーミング第二段階が完了して間もない可住惑星に、その首都を遷都することになった。
惑星の改造は現在も続けられているがまだ大地の至る場所で原生林が繁茂しており、ロスト・エルサレムを彷彿とさせる水に恵まれた惑星である。
現在、第二ミルチア政府自治州政府代表討議員のヘルマーが実権を握っておりクーカイ・ファウンデーション設立にも貢献し、実情として両者は一つの組織、勢力として深い結びつきがある。
第二ミルチア郊外にはシオンとジンの自宅がある。
第二ミルチアへの移民はテラフォーミングの第一段階後期から行われているがシオンの祖父はそれ以前に移住していたらしい。
