The first chapter of Future Redeemed establishes the premise of the story as the party begins to unite.
This page is divided into sections based on the Event Theater. Scenes not in the Event Theater (such as story quests, unvoiced dialogue, or field dialogue) are shown as italic headers and given unofficial titles.
It is assumed that the reader is familiar with the entire plot of not only Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but also Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and their respective extra stories.

The camera pans to Shulk's face, with an anguished expression. It seems like age has gotten to him.

The figure indeed bears a striking resemblance to Alvis, holding a weapon that looks like the Monado, with golden wings similar to Zanza's. The camera zooms into his face, before going back to Shulk.
Rex
Drop it, Shulk!
The camera pans to Rex, looking similar to how he did in the picture with his children, though a bit more aged. He wields two swords that resemble the swords he carried in his youth.

Nothing's gonna get through to him!

Fascinating!
The camera pans to Z, looking a little amused.

Suddenly, a burst of energy comes out of the figure, as the three warriors struggle to keep their composure. Shulk and Rex grunt in pain, before being whisked away. At last, only the figure remains, his face obscured.
From the sky, the camera pans across the landscape, showing the verdant plains and the wildlife that inhabit it. It then passes through a wasteland before settling in an autumnal forest. A Vatura Flak is seen chasing down a man who barely dodges its laser, while a silver-haired individual with a feminine appearance gracefully dodges another laser. Their names are Matthew and A. Matthew prepares a punch for the kill, before being deflected.

The Vatura Flak attempts to pounce on them, but the two warriors swiftly dodge.

A draws a Blade that bears a resemblance to the Monado, while Matthew readies his fists.
The Ouroboros Power[edit]
Matthew runs towards the Vatura Flak and jumps, preparing a punch for the kill. His Ouroboros Knuckles begin to emanate a golden light, while Matthew himself glows in a green hue, his iris glowing. He grunts before slamming the ground with his fist, causing a shockwave in the ground and the foe to disintegrate.

The flashback ends. After a few seconds of silence, Matthew looks at A again.

Matthew walks away. A contemplates for a moment, before following him. The camera pans out, showing the rest of the Vermilion Woods.

All right. This'll be a good place for a rest.

Matthew's Past[edit]
In the middle of the night, Matthew and A are seen trying to rest next to a fireplace. Matthew stares at the fireplace pensively.
A flashback shows Matthew sprinting in desperation around a burning landscape.
An old man, Matthew's granddad, is seen having been stabbed by N.

Matthew's grandad begins to glow in a green hue.

Matthew's grandad explodes in a burst of light. Several Citizens are seen, with a girl at the front, looking like the one in Matthew's previous flashback. The camera pans out to show an urban landscape; a City. Matthew yells out in anguish as it's destroyed.
Back in the present, Matthew is still staring at the fireplace.

(disquieted sigh)
Matthew turns over to face away from the fireplace, trying to sleep. A notices and looks over to see Matthew, before finally falling asleep.
The scene shifts to three City soldiers trying to escape from Kevesi forces.
City soldier
(panting, running for dear life)
The three soldiers hide behind a rock. As they look away, the Kevesi forces are slaughtered with several explosions and screams of pain. Once the commotion stops, they leave their hiding spot and go towards the vanquished Kevesi forces to see what could've possibly taken them out. To their surprise...

(quiet breath)
The soldiers are surrounded by strange creatures that resemble Fogbeasts.
City soldier
(startled gasp)
A strange girl is seen walking towards the soldiers, as the Kevesi husks disintegrate in her presence.
Back at camp, the campfire's out. Matthew has seemingly just woken up, with his yawning alerting A.

The sun's already hanging high in the sky, Matthew.

Sleeping on the ground... I've never seen anyone make it look quite so comfortable.

All of a sudden, beeping is heard, which alerts Matthew.

He gets up, looking at the same device as earlier. A green dot appears on the map, just like before. All of a sudden, the screen pulses, showing a red dot not far off.

Matthew puts the device in his pocket.

The duo runs off and makes haste.

Matthew and A follow the ping to a City survivor lying on the ground. The survivor starts glowing as they approach and disappears into golden motes.

Judging by the wounds, it probably wasn't Moebius.

Colonies Collide[edit]
In a wasteland, a battle is fought between two colonies - The Kevesi Colony 5, and the Agnian Colony Gamma. The scene flashes between the Kevesi and Agnian Ferronises and Levnises. Afterwards, the soldiers rush in to confront each other, with some casualties. An Agnian kills a Kevesi in a duel, as his Blade is flung towards a startled Kevesi soldier with blonde hair. His name is Nikol.[3]

(gasp of horror)
He runs for cover, narrowly dodging several lasers before taking cover in some fallen debris. Three Kevesi soldiers run in.

Hold those positions!
They get through...left flank's good as snuffed!

(in unison) Yaa!
The trio of soldiers rush into the battle. The scene flashes back to Nikol. The loud noises, the laser blasts, and the screams of agony are frightening him.
Nikol
(scared whimper)
The scene shifts to be in the perspective of the Agnian side. An Agnian soldier with an emerald core crystal strikes down a Kevesi soldier with her Blade, a Wildfire Kithara, watching him dissolve into motes. She takes off her helmet, revealing her face. Her name is Glimmer.[4]

(relieved breath)
Two more Agnian soldiers run up to Glimmer.

That 'em all?

The right flank's been scoured pretty clean.

Only thing left's the Ferronis in the rear.

Nikol realizes that his cover's been blown.

Nikol stands up, preparing to take a stand against the trio of Agnians.

Back in the Vermilion Woods, Matthew and A are walking together as they hear a blast from afar, which shakes a puddle.

More blasts, with some faint gunshots too.

Matthew continues to rush towards the battle.

A starts rushing not far behind Matthew. One more blast is heard.
Two Remain[edit]

*Huff* What is that? That weapon...?
Nikol is now wiping the floor with an Agnian soldier using a strange weapon attached to his back. So much for being a "runt".

Can't be a Blade...
One more is downed. Now it's one on one.
Nikol
(exhausted panting)

A sight not far away gets their attention. More Kevesi and Agnian troops show up as their Ferronises are seen up close. Colony 5's Ferronis energizes a laser before it fires, destroying not just the Agnian soldiers of Colony Gamma and their Ferronis, but also the Kevesi soldiers in a kamikaze attack. The scene pans back to the two soldiers from earlier, with Glimmer looking in horror.

(shocked gasp)

Glimmer rushes forward and attempts to land the kill on Nikol.
Matthew and A are almost at the battlefield, narrowly dodging a laser that was right in front of them.

The scene pans throughout the war-torn battlefield, covered in smoke, dying flames, and fresh husks.

After some contemplation, Matthew runs into the battlefield.

The two soldiers, exhausted from their battle, seem to prepare for one final blow towards each other.

The two soldiers look in shock as Matthew jumps, preparing for a punch similar to the one he landed on the Vatura Flak.
Matthew
You wanna scrap...you scrap with me!
The two soldiers are hit by the shockwave. Ghost-like images of them are seen behind them, with their Irises turning from Flame Clocks into the Ouroboros symbol. They then fall to the ground. Glimmer gets back up as she tries to fight Matthew.

I told you to cut it out!
Matthew disarms Glimmer and holds her up from the back of her attire. Just as Nikol gets up...

Yeah, and you!
Matthew throws Glimmer at Nikol. They both yelp in pain.

Matthew prepares his Ouroboros Knuckles and A summons the Monado as they face off against the two soldiers.
The Consul Duo[edit]
Nikol rushes in to land a hit as Glimmer watches, Kithara drawn. Matthew punches Glimmer as her Blade dissipates, with A striking down Nikol. Glimmer's able to get up, but just as soon as she does-

Matthew strikes down Glimmer one more time for good measure. Nikol gets up, ready to take out Matthew, before getting picked up by his Variable Backpack and falling to the floor.

Chill out, will you?!
Matthew throws the Variable Backpack to the ground. He then finds out it makes a good seat, much to Nikol's shock.

What... What are you, goon?

I was beginning to think you'd never ask.

As if the suspenseful music wasn't enough of a sign, blue particles begin to converge. Two Consuls are coming, just as A suspected.

The two Moebius step back, visibly frightened. Q lets out a fearful gasp as Matthew slowly approaches them.

Oh? Matthew's approaching them, as A and Nikol watch in hesitation. As Glimmer watches, she suddenly hears...

R's left eye glows; she's using her Iris to speak to Glimmer.

Glimmer gives an affirmative nod. She materializes her Blade as Nikol watches in shock, then gets back up on her feet. Matthew's still distracted, as he readies a punch to one of their cores.

Glimmer rushes forth, with Matthew noticing just in the nick of time as he keeps his footing despite being hit. Nikol looks in horror at the sight of Matthew trying to dodge her strikes, clearly trying not to harm her.

A Blade stabs R's core while she's distracted, as she lets out a cry of pain. It's immediately apparent that this is the work of A.

R starts to dissipate into motes, still shocked at A's tactics.

A releases the Blade as R fully vanishes. Q tries to ambush A to no avail as A cleanly slashes his core in half, causing him to yelp.

Q starts to dissipate into motes, similarly to his companion. A sheathes the Monado.
Glimmer
(in horror and grief)

(gasp)
Matthew's still trying to dodge Glimmer's onslaught; Nikol's still spectating.

A runs forth and jumps up to Colony 5's Ferronis, destroying its Flame Clock as it explodes in red motes. Nikol watches in shock. Colony Gamma isn't exempt, with A destroying its Flame Clock as well. It too explodes into red motes, which shower the battlefield before slowly dying out.

Huhh...
Both of the soldiers' Irises permanently gain the Ouroboros mark. They both faint thanks to their Iris Clocks being removed. Matthew breaks Glimmer's fall and puts her down gently, while he isn't quick enough to break Nikol's. Matthew sighs in relief.

It's now sunset. The chaos has died down, and-

...Nikol's struck down on to the floor, trying to dodge the vicious, brutal Glimmer.

Nikol stays on the defensive, evading Glimmer's attacks. Matthew and A arrive just in time; Matthew carrying a Bunnit, and A carrying a sack of food. They watch in utter annoyance.

The scene flashes back to the soldiers gaining their Ouroboros marks and losing their Iris Clocks.

It's now nighttime. Four roasts surround the fireplace. Matthew picks up two and offers them to Nikol and Glimmer.

Nikol hesitantly takes one, but Glimmer doesn't budge.

Matthew offers Glimmer a roast. Glimmer begrudgingly accepts it. She's never seen eating it on-screen, but it's implied she did.
Not long afterwards, A, Matthew, and Nikol are seen fast asleep. Glimmer, meanwhile, is lying down and staring into space. She then realizes the coast is clear, as she stares at the trio before running off on her own. Her footsteps wake A up, yet upon seeing Glimmer make her escape, A drifts back into sleep.
