Scout (XCX)

Scouts, also known as BLADE Scouts, in Xenoblade Chronicles X, are members of BLADE that can be recruited to a player's team.

Online players have the option to send their version of their avatar, Cross, with their current loadout online for other players to recruit. They will arrive with all of their stats and equipment (although their Skell will not be included).

Recruitment[edit]

When players recruit Scouts, they will be able to see the stats, equipment, Battle Arts, Skills, Soul Voices, and appearance of the character. After pressing A, the player is allowed to choose whether or not to recruit them.

It is possible for the same Scout to be added to the team multiple times in case the Scout is found multiple times. Doing this will grant more rewards to the player that was scouted.

BLADE Scout Console[edit]

At the BLADE Scout Console located on the BLADE Concourse, specific scouts can be recruited in exchange for Credits (the exact value depends on the scout). Players are able to filter scouts based on Class, Weapon type (melee and ranged), and level. They can also filter such that only players in their friend list are displayed, players the user follows, or all players. When a Scout is added, the player is kicked out of the menu, but they may reenter it if they wish to add another Scout to the party.

When a Scout is recruited through this method, in the Wii U version they will be in the team for 120 to 240 minutes (depending on their level, with lower-level Scouts being recruitable for longer periods of time). In the Definitive Edition, the player can choose to add them to the team for 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, or 12 hours. Longer durations of time cost more credits.

The Scout Console also allows the player to release recruited Scouts. If a Scout is released before time is up, the player will be refunded according to the remaining time.

Finally, the Scout Console allows the player to manually register their own Cross avatar in its current state to be scouted by others (whether or not it is set to be auto-registered in the settings), to view the setup of their current registered avatar, or to delete this registration.

Scouts Throughout Mira[edit]

Scouts can spawn throughout the world of Mira and within the BLADE Barracks. Talking to them will give options to Scout them for a limited time.

In the Wii U version, the player can instead get Division Support buffs related to the Division they're in. If the player asks for division support, they won't be able to recruit the scout. Combat support from a Scout always lasts for one hour.

Scouts recruited this way are recruited for free. When a Scout is recruited through this method, they will be in the team for 30 minutes and cannot be recruited again for an hour.

As Party Members[edit]

Scouts can participate in battle; however, they cannot be set as the party leader. They can be registered to any of the player's Skells in the Skell hangar in the BLADE Barracks.

Scout Level[edit]

When the team gains EXP, Scouts will gain Scout EXP, which is used in order to level them up. Scout EXP scales based on the character level, with lower-level Scouts gaining levels easier than higher-level Scouts.

In other words, yes we know it's unfinished; we just didn't want to leave it blank in the meantime. You can help complete it.
The editor who added this tag elaborates: Explain how many reward tickets + the rate for each precious resource

Definitive Edition[edit]

When a Scout levels up, they will grant a Scout Merit Reward to the player.

  • Scout Level 2 Reward: Material Tickets (83 at level 99)
  • Scout Level 3 Reward: More Material Tickets (166 at level 99) and a random collectible
  • Scout Level 4 (★) Reward: Even more Material Tickets (496 at level 99) and a Precious Resource
    • If the scouted BLADE has disabled "Auto-register Avatar" on their system, they will give the same resource and collectible every time their level is maxed. This means that it's possible to follow them and re-recruit them to farm a resource.

Scout Rewards[edit]

When the player's Scout has been scouted by another player online, the scouted player will get a notification that someone's scouted them. The player will later be able to go to the scout console and claim their rewards. However, these rewards are only valid for seven days and are lost if not claimed within that period.

The rewards section lists each player that scouted them followed by the EXP they gained from their time with them, as well as a random Collectible for each time scouted.
