STARS OF TEARS (OUT TAKE) (called Stars of Tears (Out Take) on the Revival disc) is Disc 1, Track 2 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack and track 2 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-. It was also included as track 10 on the album Colours of Light (a compilation of Mitsuda's vocal works).
Aspiration is an instrumental remix of this track. A Japanese version was made for CREID, called Two Wings.
This track does not play in any cutscenes, areas, battles or menus in Xenogears. It was intended to play during a staff credits sequence after the opening cutscene; however, this was cut because it was decided that this would make the opening sequence too long. The song is also the audio to a music video stored in the English version of Xenogears' second disc; however, this file cannot ordinarily be accessed without extraction tools or similar methods.

Stars of Tears is a remix of STARS OF TEARS (OUT TAKE) performed at the Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert -The Beginning and the End-, and is the 23rd track on the associated Blu-Ray disc. Joanne Hogg reprised her role as the vocalist; the lyrics were the same as above, with the exception of the omission of lyrics in parentheses.
STARS OF TEARS (OUT TAKE) is referenced in Project X Zone 2 chapter 30, 'Way Beyond Good & Evil': Xiaomu quotes "The waves of time take me deeper into you... A haze as blue as summer skies".
