Riku (リク) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is a mechanic in Keves's army and a companion of Noah, Eunie, and Lanz.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Riku is a seafoam-green Nopon with a fluffy tuft of brown hair on his head. He is equipped with Kevesi armor that covers his entire body except for his stomach and legs, and wields a gun as part of the Variable Arms in combat.

Riku is a strict, serious character. He is skilled both in mechanics and Gem crafting, and takes great pride in his work. While often annoyed by the party's antics, he clearly cares about them and their well-being. Despite his serious demeanor, he can occasionally show a more silly side of himself, such as in the quest Unspeakable Being, where he shows concern over the concept of a creature more adorable than a Nopon existing.

Lore[edit]

  • In Future Redeemed, Riku states that his father was once a traveling companion of Melia. Given the probable timescales involved, this most likely refers to Riki, though Kino is also a possibility. Riku further elaborates that Melia is, in fact, his Masterpon.
  • Riku is not only one of the few individuals not assimilated into Origin on the day of the Intersection, but is the only such individual, besides Melia and Nia, that the main party of 3 meets.
  • While both Queens designed and created the Ouroboros Stone, Riku would find potential improvements to the design on his own, and later with the help of the Liberators.
  • Riku's affiliation with the Founders during the ending of Future Redeemed suggests that he is the seventh Founder of the City. This is further reinforced by Riku's attitude against fame (from the field event in Future Redeemed that explains the story behind the Lucky Seven), which matches the engraved text of the central plinth in the City's Memorial Hall.
