マルベーニもシンと同じく人間への憎しみや失望を感じ、神の代行者として「天の聖杯」を使い人間を消し去ろうとします。ですが、罪人、異能の人という見え方のみにとどまらず、マルベーニの言い分もしっかりと描かれています。Disc5 M02「違く、遙かな過去」は人間への癒しや心の拠り所といったテーマで描かれており、アレンジバージョンのこちらは同じモチーフを使ってマルベー二の狂気が表現されています。
