Past From Far Distance is Disc 5, Track 2 on the Xenoblade2 Original Soundtrack and Disc 10, Track 2 on the Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. Praetor Amalthus - The Acting God -, and by extension Over Despair and Animus, are both remixes of this track.
It plays in the following cutscenes:
Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]
- Amalthus prays in front of an icon of the World Tree in Indol.
- Fan la Norne makes her first appearance in the Old Factory.
- Fan la Norne invites Rex and the party to meet Praetor Amalthus (flashback).
- The party sees Amalthus cleansing a set of Core Crystals.
- Jin incapacitates Rex and Mythra at Genbu Crown.
- Eulogimenos reveals the existence of the 3rd Aegis Sword.
- Amalthus treats a refugee's wounds, whom he later finds killing a family and robbing a house (flashback).
Torna ~ The Golden Country[edit]
- Minoth meets with Amalthus after the latter found and killed the refugee above (flashback).

闘いに明け暮れ傷つけ合う人々、生きるために悪に手を染める者。マルベーニはこんな世界にした神に対して疑問を抱いていた。世界樹を眺めながら……。マルベーニの過去のシーンは、効果音は入るものの、彼自身の言葉は一切発せられません。ここは彼の心の叫びとしてコーラスのみで作るべきだと思い、他の楽器は一切入れませんでした。自分が最も得意とする宗教音楽を作ることができて嬉しかったですし、大好きなシーンの一つです。
