Origin is an area in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the final area of the game. It is where the final confrontation with Alpha takes place. The point of no return is passed upon engaging Alpha and the battle with him will only end with either the party being victorious or defeated.
Geography[edit]
Origin's only geography is a simple metallic floor surrounded by an orange rift. After Alpha's transformation, the floor transforms into a floating platform above an orbiting planet.
Story[edit]
Around 10 years prior to the main events of Future Redeemed, Alpha seizes control of Origin from Moebius. He sees the way in which the world is run and decides that he will gather all the people of the City and travel to find a new world whilst destroying Aionios. Shulk, Rex, and Z confront Alpha there in an attempt to defeat him, but their combined might weren't able to defeat him.
During the party's fight with N at the Prison Terrace, Matthew and N clash, showing the party a memory from Origin. This memory shows the destruction of the Old City and Na'el assembling the surviving remainder of the City people to depart from Aionios, standing in a pillar of light.
The confrontation with N ends with Na'el smiting N and teleporting the party elsewhere. They appear to be in a suburban neighbourhood overlooking a great city with a tall tower. This turns out to be Klaus's world before his experiment with the Conduit. Shulk and Rex realise they are now experiencing one of Alpha's memories and are inside of Origin's memory stage.
The party push forward and eventually defeat Alpha. Shulk, Rex, and A realise that the world no longer has an avatar to keep Aionios stable, so they take Alpha’s place within Origin.
For an unexplained reason, Origin then falls into the Cent-Omnia Region, crushing everything below. This leaves a great sea in its place. Some undisclosed time after, Moebius eventually take back control of Origin.
