Oka (オカ, Oka) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles. She is Riki's wife, Kino's adoptive mother and Nene's biological mother.

Appearance and personality

Oka is a Nopon with pink fur and tufts of curly hair. She wears a magenta vest, a pink bow, and yellow flowers.

Oka is not onscreen enough to get a good sense of her personality, but some NPC and quest dialogue suggests she does not think much of her husband Riki's antics, and has quite a temper.

Story arc

Oka only appears a single time - when Riki returns from killing the Telethia in Makna Forest. She corroborates Dunga's story about Riki's children remaining very expensive upkeep while Riki has been away, and convinces him to go along with the clearly made-up prophecy that he must keep journeying with Shulk and his friends.

Oka is briefly seen at the end of Future Connected.

Trivia

• While Oka's presence is minimal, she is still considered a "major" character by the game and its designers - her model is stored in the same area as other major characters, and she has a non-trivial amount of concept art in the artbook. Despite this, she only has one mouth texture, and so it does not move when she speaks. Both her Japanese and English voice actors also remain uncredited.
  • Oka is given an animated mouth in the Definitive Edition, though it is of somewhat low quality.
