October Mermaid (referred to by the Snowfield Hideout jukebox as September Mermaid, sometimes unofficially referred to as June Mermaid) is Disc 2, Track 4 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack, Track 30 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-, and Track 2 of the B-Side of the first disc of Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -. It is one of the tracks playable in the Nortune jukebox (under the option 'A Theme'), as well as in the Snowfield Hideout jukebox.
It plays as the battle music against Crescens (Emeralda's Gear) at Sargasso Point, as well as in the immediately prior and subsequent cutscenes. In addition, it also plays during the following cutscenes:
- Elly briefly remembers her past life and awakens Emeralda in the ruins of Zeboim.
- Emeralda and Elly go to the Mass-driver Facility in order to disperse Taura's Limiter-removing nanomachines.
- Dan finds Fei frozen in carbonite in Shevat.
- Fei remembers and has flashbacks of his past life as Kim in Zeboim.
October Mermaid (CREID)[edit]
October Mermaid is a remix of October Mermaid in a Celtic style. It is Track 7 on the CREID album, and was included as Track 2 of the B-Side of the second disc of Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -.

エメラダのテーマとして書いた「神無月の人魚」で、個人的
に最も気に入っている楽曲です。 一度ピアノのみのアレンジ
を作ってみたいと思っていました。 前半の哀愁漂うメロディ
と、後半の深く深く沈んでゆく感じのアルペジオ & カウンター
メロディの2つの構成しかありませんが、 エメラダをよく表し
ている楽曲だと思います。 当時、 キャラクター設定を見たとき
には、明るく元気な曲にしようと思っていましたが、エメラダ
を知れば知るほど何故か切ない楽曲が出来上がっていま
した。
