NEMOUSU秘OUS (called シンピテキ on the JASRAC database) is Disc 1, Track 15 on the XenobladeX Original Soundtrack. It consists of two parts: the first part plays from the start until 2:50, and the second plays from then until the end.

The first part of the track plays when Elma awakens her original body in the Lifehold Core in Chapter 12. The second part plays in the following cutscenes:

Main story

• Elma explains to Cross the mission of BLADE at the start of Chapter 4.
• Irina requests to join up with Elma's team for a mission during Renewed Will.
• Lao's team discusses him with the party at the end of A Friend In Need.
• Lin talks about the White Whale's departure from Earth with Lao in Chapter 6.
• Doug talks about his past with Lao during Close Comrades.
• Vandham debriefs the party at the end of Chapter 7.
• The party observes Dorothy and airs ideas on how Shingo can woo her during The Matchmaker.
• Lao joins in with helping Shingo out during the same quest.
• The party and Lao observe Dorothy and Shingo talking at the end of the same quest.
• The party convinces Celica and Rock to go back with them to New Los Angeles during Manhunt (if the player chooses to continue searching instead of confronting the Ganglion earlier in the mission).
• Celica catches up with the party shortly after she and Rock are invited to New Los Angeles during the same mission (regardless of choices made).

Etymology

• 'Ne' is written as 'ネ' in katakana.
• 'Mousu' is written as '申す'.
• Combining ネ and 申 results in the kanji 神. This can be combined with the '秘' in the title, resulting in 神秘, 'mystery'.
• Adding the 'OUS' at the end of the title results in 'Mysterious'.

Translating this back into Japanese gives 神秘的, 'Shinpiteki' (hence the JASRAC version of the title).
