Mystery Launch Codes is a quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is a DLC quest introduced in version 1.5.1 as part of the DLC Quest List - Distribution 4 DLC. It can be received from Adenine in the Wall Power Control Room in the Streets of the Land of Morytha, after starting Chapter 10 and clearing an Extra-Ancient Wisdom level 5 and Keen Eye level 9 Field Skill check, provided Adenine and KOS-MOS are in the party.

Quest objectives[edit]

  • Complete both objectives:
  • Input the codes at the ancient tablet within the Wall Power Control Room in the Land of Morytha.
    • Requires clearing an Extra-Ancient Wisdom level 5 and Keen Eye level 1 check.
  • Input the codes at the Data Processing Room in the World Tree.
    • Requires clearing an Extra-Ancient Wisdom level 5 and Keen Eye level 9 check, then failing an Extra-Ancient Wisdom level 99 and Keen Eye level 9 check, then clearing a Mental Arithmetic level 3 check.
  • Investigate the area of Lv. 3, Alioth inside the World Tree.
  • Defeat the Nameless Sentinel by Lv. 3, Alioth inside the World Tree.

Results[edit]

"The launch codes activated the most powerful guardian at the World Tree. Even KOS-MOS seemed exasperated. (DLC Quest)"

Dialogue[edit]

Ancient Knowledge activates.
Adenine
This looks simple enough! Here, let me read it for you.
Umm...
In the interests of safety... Launch code... Divided into two...
Consigned to two Stopper Sovereigns...
Use codes to override...
...And that's about that!
The data is really fragmented, so I can't really get much more from this, but sounds interesting, eh?
KOS-MOS
Does it?
Adenine
Ah, you never get excited about anything, KOS-MOS...
Are you sure there's not some part of you, deep down inside, that's dying to know more?
You're not even a tiny bit curious to know what would happen if we got our hands on those codes?
KOS-MOS
I have predicted the outcome. I see no need to go through with this.
Adenine
Imagining is nothing compared to seeing the truth with your own eyes, though! So, for the codes, we need...
We need to take out those Stopper Sovereigns! You won't mind if we make a little detour for that, will you, Driver?

Input the codes at the ancient tablet[edit]

Adenine
Right, then.
So the launch codes should be entered in...here?
The scene fades to black for a moment.
Adenine
Huh?
Well, that's odd...
Ancient Knowledge activates.
Adenine
Of course!
We'll need to go back to the Data Processing Room in the World Tree.
KOS-MOS
It seems to be so.
Adenine
What are we waiting for, then? Let's get going! I'm sure there'll be something awesome waiting for us.
Party member: Amaze

Input the codes at the Data Processing Room[edit]

Adenine
Here we are.
Let's see what these launch codes do now!
Ancient Knowledge activates.
Adenine
There's the first one in, looking good...
And now code number two...
Ancient Knowledge fails.
Adenine
Aww... This is way too hard!
I have to study more if I ever want to get these codes in... Much, much more!
I know, I'll get a load of books, some long-lasting food, and hole up in a room for a few weeks, and...
KOS-MOS arrives.
KOS-MOS
That will not be necessary, Adenine.
Search Effect fails.
Adenine
Oh, you wanted to help or something, KOS-MOS?
KOS-MOS
Apologies. Unfortunately I do not fulfill the required specifications this time.
Adenine
Don't worry about it. We'll take our time and get there eventually.
I reckon it'll only take us a thousand years or so. No problem!
Search Effect activates.
KOS-MOS
Code entered... Override successful!
Adenine
Really? Really, really?
KOS-MOS
Yes, it is complete.
Adenine
But how? KOS-MOS, do you have some secret repository of knowledge about the World Tree or something?
KOS-MOS
Incorrect. It is simply that I...
I detect an anomaly in Lv. 3, Alioth.
Adenine
Maybe that's where our something awesome is!
Although I'd love to find out how you managed this, I'm more interested in seeing what the codes unlocked!
I just KNOW it's going to be something amazing.
KOS-MOS
Let us hope so.
Party member: Silence

Investigate the area of Lv. 3, Alioth[edit]

An Artifice comes out of the elevator at the center of the room.
Adenine
THAT's it...?
KOS-MOS
Indeed. That is what those codes - no, you - unlocked.
Adenine
How could I have done something like this? I was only after treasure or something awesome!
KOS-MOS
I did warn you.
This is perhaps the strongest foe in the World Tree. Roaming free, now.
Adenine
Hahaha! Warnings were never going to beat my curiosity.
I'm so sorry, Driver!
But... You can't deny that awakening that crazy thing is...kind of interesting. Right?
Party member: Silence

Trivia[edit]

No other enemies will appear in Lv. 3, Alioth while the Nameless Sentinel is there.
