- This article is about the Battle Art in Xenoblade Chronicles. For the Battle Skill in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, see Monado Speed (XC2).
Monado Speed (モナドスピード, Monado Speed), often shortened to just Speed (スピード, Shield), is one of Shulk's Monado Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. It gives one party member an extra +200% evasion, making them extremely likely to dodge physical attacks.
Overview[edit]
The main purpose of Monado Speed is to counter visions of physical Arts, as the evasion boost almost always guarantees that physical attacks of any kind will miss. However, it is harder to use effectively than Monado Shield because it doesn't last as long and each use of Speed only affects one party member (so if the aggro changes it may be wasted). Speed can also be used in more general situations to protect someone who's suddenly gained a lot of aggro, giving the tank a chance to take the aggro back.

In the Super Smash Bros. games[edit]
- Main article: Monado Arts on SmashWiki
In the Super Smash Bros. series, Shulk uses Monado Speed as one of the options of his neutral special move, Monado Arts. While Speed is active, Shulk moves much faster on the ground and sideways through the air, at the expense of jump height and damage dealt.
