Monado Enchant (モナドエンチャント, Monado Enchant), often shortened to just Enchant (エンチャント, Enchant), is one of Shulk's Monado Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles. It applies a buff to the entire party that allows them to damage Mechon normally, regardless of what weapons they have equipped, and also adds damage to all auto-attacks against Mechon. An enchanted ally cannot damage anything that the Monado is unable to damage by itself, such as Face Mechon.

Overview[edit]
Monado Enchant is almost mandatory to apply in battles that involve Mechon for a large part of the game unless the player is willing to only defeat them using ether attacks, continuous toppling, or Shulk alone. It lasts long enough that most fights will be over before it has to be re-applied, but this is something that needs to be considered in longer battles or if the party is being knocked out a lot, as it can be easy to forget. When the party is outfitted with anti-Mechon weapons, Enchant still has some use in its auto-attack strengthening effect, but even given its relative cheapness there are probably better things for Shulk to be spending talent gauge on. Shulk's AI does not check whether anti-Mechon weapons are equipped though; he will try to use Enchant on Mechon regardless. When not facing Mechon, Enchant is useless.
In the Definitive Edition, the damage boost of Monado Enchant also applies to each hit of arts, not just auto-attacks. This substantially increases how much damage it provides over the course of a fight.
Monado Enchant is not available in Future Connected, as no Mechon appear in the story and thus it would have no effect at any point. Together with Turn Strike, this is the only art of Shulk that does not reappear.
