Miyuki Itsumi (ミユキ・イツミ) is a character in the Xenosaga series. She is also a guest party member in Xenosaga Episode III. Miyuki is one of Shion's junior colleagues at Vector Industries.

Appearance and personality

Miyuki is a woman with neck-length brown hair and eyes. She wears the female Vector Industries uniform with red accents, black tights and yellow boots, though in Episode II, she wears a jacketed variant. As a Scientia member, Miyuki wore a dark suit with red accents and lemniscate decorations, she also wears a Scientia backpack.

Miyuki has an upbeat personality. She is described as a mechanical otaku; often using others as guinea pigs, usually Shion to test out new inventions. Miyuki is also somewhat clumsy and scatterbrained, she tends to mess things up, causing others to view her as unreliable.

Story arc

Episode I

Miyuki works as a systems programmer at Vector's First R&D Division. She is a colleague of Shion's and is considered a mechanical otaku. She works on various inventions, emailing information about them to Shion throughout the game. Shion is often plagued by expense authorization requests from her as a result. Miyuki's first appearance in the game occurs after Shion and the others make their way to the Elsa. Miyuki, via a video communication, passes along orders to Shion to pass along KOS-MOS to the Second R & D Division on Second Miltia. Shion gets very upset at this, forcing Shion's director to intervene. After the director agrees to Shion's demands, Miyuki comes back on screen and praises Shion, telling her how happy she is that she is safe. Miyuki didn't notice that Allen was in danger or was even there with Shion until he speaks up about it. Miyuki appears again later in the game after the Dämmerung appears near the Kukai Foundation and fires the Rhine Maiden. Miyuki expresses pleasure at being transferred to Second Division, enabling her to see it up close. Miyuki sends over information about something in the area attracting the Gnosis but being hidden by a forcefield. Miyuki proposes linking up the Dämmerung's mainframe with KOS-MOS' D.S.S.S. sensor and provides a PT cartridge to Shion which Shion claims is too dangerous to use. KOS-MOS is able to use the cartridge safely however, revealing the Song of Nephilim.

Episode II

Miyuki appears at Vector Industries First R & D Division on the Dämmerung while Shion is stationed there. Shion has a hard time keeping her attention while talking to Miyuki and stops their conversation. Shion is able to visit Miyuki in a nearby room. Miyuki also appears at the end of the game when Shion and Allen have returned to the Dämmerung, telling Allen he has a lot of reports to fill out.

She's a younger colleague of Shion's, and quite a mechanical otaku. She submits patent applications as a hobby, and constantly creates new inventions using Shion and the others as guinea pigs.

As her supervisor, Shion is plagued by her constant expense authorization requests.

Her full name is Miyuki Itsumi, and in a way, she is a woman very true to her ambitions.

Her best attribute is her constantly chipper and upbeat personality. Her ability to maintain her usual brightness even under grave circumstances is not bravado, but a sign of legitimate toughness. Joining Vector Second R&D Division was the realization of her longtime wish. Currently, she's immersed in new weapons development.

Her tendency to rack up expenses at every turn is a perpetual source of headaches amongst her superiors. In a manner of speaking, she is a woman true to her own desires. Quite the mechanical whiz, she is always asking Shion and the others to try out her latest inventions, which include Shion's M.W.S.. Patent applications are something of a hobby for her.
