Premonition (called Foreboding on the Revival disc, sometimes unofficially referred to as Omen) is Disc 2, Track 15 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack and track 41 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-. The melody is based on a motif from Dark Daybreak. It is one of the tracks playable in the Nortune jukebox, under the option 'Dungeons'.
It plays as the battle music against Alpha Weltall (Grahf's Gear) in Mahanon and against Opiomorph (Miang's Gear) in Merkava. It also plays as the area theme in Babel Tower and Merkava. Finally, it plays during the following cutscenes:
- Ol' Man Bal tells Fei and Bart his story of how God created humans.
- The narration talks about how those that had mutated into Wels gathered at the Soylent System facilities.
- Fei narrates how many people turned into Wels after the Gazel Ministry used the Gaetia Key.
- Fei narrates how the party planned to head for Mahanon.
- The party enters Mahanon and recognises that it fell to the Xenogears planet 10,000 years ago.
- The party proceeds further into Mahanon after defeating Deus's carcass.
- Elly approaches Krelian and Miang in Golgoda.
- Elly is taken away after defeating Krelian's guard in Golgoda.
- Wiseman tells Fei he must focus his feelings in order to fight Grahf.
- The party approaches the place in Merkava where Elly is being held.
- Deus steals the Anima Relics of the party's Omnigears.
- Fei jumps into the place where Deus submerged into in Merkava.
- Fei shows the party the remains of Kadomony.
MELKABA[edit]
MELKABA is a remix of Premonition in a Celtic style. It is Track 1 on the CREID album.
Foreboding (20th Anniversary)[edit]
Foreboding is a remix of Premonition performed at the Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert -The Beginning and the End-, and is the 19th track on the associated Blu-Ray disc.
